This sounds worth a look.

“Everything is original including tan paint and orange rims with black stripes. Canvas top and doors show wear. Body is reasonable with some rust. Needs fuel pump, brake job, etc. Has a new gas tank. Power takeoff (PTO), tow bar and front weights. Column shift, 2 lower speeds (over & under). 4 cylinders. Runs but not drivable on public roads. All serial numbers match. Service manual. “Willys JEEP 1947 flat fender CJ2A flat head needs glass in the window t-90 3 speed with a spicer transfer case. the jeep also runs fine its still a 6 Volt. the frame is good and with a days work you can be driving it.price is $1000 they used them on most farms because it worked better than a tractor and has a PTO set up not this tranny but can find one. so it could run a gen,any farm machinery etc. get a piece of history and use it.

My Grandfather’s European Trip in 1924

UPDATE:  I think this is a Fiat 501, Series 2, made in the 1920s.  

I was testing out my handheld scanner today that mom bought me for Christmas (yeah, I know, about time I did that).  It turns out, it works pretty well!  I decided to try scanning some of the 1924 images from my grandfather’s trip around Europe and Northern Africa.

My question is, anyone know what type of car this is?  I believe it may be a Durant Motor Company 1923 Flint e-55?  Grandpa appears to refer to it as the ‘Flea’, but the only two notations I have are kind of blurred.

I don’t know if they imported the car or bought/rent/borrowed it when they got to France, but they had plenty of resources, so it could have been any one of those.  The thing I couldn’t match up was the grille — I couldn’t find any grilles that matched the front of the grille below.

And though it might not be a jeep, I suspect traveling around Europe without a full top was as adventurous as any jeep trip would have been (they did have a light, but airy top they could throw over themselves)!  They started in France, traveled through Spain and into Northern Africa. They returned by ship to Marseilles, drove throughout Italy, then headed north through Switzerland and into Germany.  They ended the trip in France then took a plane to the UK.  I have over 400 photos, many of popular landmarks, making their path easier to track.  I hope to recreate part of the trip some day.

“I am selling my 1948 CJ2A.  It starts and runs every time.  It is my daily driver.  Has all original running gear (Go devil engine and T90 Trans)

The winning bidder will also receive for FREE the matching 1945? Bantam trailer.  Fully restored to match the jeep.  New top, rims, electrical, tires, tongue box, hitch.

Pros:
Currently registered and insured

All this was done within the last year and a half
Original Carburetor rebuilt
New body (Inner and outer windshield, tailgate, hood, fenders)
Has Willys stamp on all body parts
The whole body was replaced with a new one and coated with POR 15 to make it rust resistant!
The frame was sanded and coated with POR 15.

Cons:
Not much to list here
The paint is relatively new (last 5 months) but it does have a few surface scratches
The transmission does pop out of second every so often when you let off the gas suddenly
The trans has a small leak (about a dime size puddle after driving)
I do have a rebuilt transmission that comes with the jeep, just haven’t had time to put it in, and never had any problems with it.
E-brake works but doesn’t hold as tight as I would like”
