“WILLYS FC150, 1959
The four-wheel drive FC-150 Forward Control Jeep has the cab situated well forward of the engine to provide more than six feet of cargo bed length despite the 81-inch wheelbase. Overall length was 147.5 inches, two inches shorter than the Nash Metropolitan and 38 inches shorter than a Chevrolet half-ton pickup. Classified as a 3/4-ton unit, though the chassis was basically that of a CJ-5 Jeep, the FC-150 was originally powered by the four-cylinder F-head Hurricane engine producing 75 horsepower and 114 pounds-feet of torque. It now has the 1985 Ford T-Bird fuel injected four-cylinder engine installed.

(06/17/2009) This looks great. Note the extra gas tank behind the driver and passenger. You can see the inlet sticking out the back. Was this common?

“this is a 1950 jeep cj3a flat fender, the body and frame are in awsome shape, has updated axles with dana 44 rear, 3 speed tranny and a 400 chevy small bock engine. four wheel dive works great and has even been converted to power steering. jeep has 5 point harness race seats with belts. new 31′ tires and exhaust, new msd distrib, new holly carb,new water pump…… the list goes on. its a real nice ride. asking $5500.00 or trade for 2 jetskis with trailer or mustang gt. text or call 518-225-3136 lv message if ya dont get me , i work alot and cant get to the phone sometimes.”

(04/29/2011) How come these jeeps never pop up when I’m in town? I’d really like to see the rear on this as it has been extended and just might be original, though it looks like a gas tank has been added. Note how it also doesn’t have the tool boxes.

“I have a 1946 and a 1950 willys jeep…..there projects”
I had a long battle repairing my parents tractor/mower today. I won, but not by much. It was one of those days where I made 3 different trips down to home depot for a mower belt, receiving the wrong one twice. In addition, four different bolts broke, too rusted to turn, forcing me to drill them out, which in turn forced me to improvise a new mounting solution for a blade assembly. If i wanted to do all that work, I’d by another jeep!!
I spotted this unusual image today. It was published along with some other declassified photos from Area 51 (which doesn’t exist btw) and published on National Geographic’s website. I wished I had a close up of the jeep. I’m glad there’s a guy standing in front of the jeep or I would have thought it was a toy jeep.
One time I drove north on the extra-terrestrial highway (Nevada State Route 375). I’ve driven all over the west and that was one of the strangest highways I’ve ever driven. There were several different events that left me certain there was some strange things going on out there.

Shep writes, “Just wanted to show you some pics of the dummy gun I made a couple days ago. This dummy gun for the most part is based on the browning M37; which was actually put on tanks instead of Jeeps in Korea. But I thought it was one of the coolest looking of the Browning .30 cals so decided to use its specifications. For the main box of the gun, I used an old piece of 1/4 inch 3×5 tubing, which I found was a mistake because almost all other pieces I welded too it was close to 1/8 inch, thus the voltage on the welder had to turned way up to penetrate the box. The barrel shield was the hardest part. I had to measure all of the distances correct, and I couldn’t start drilling with 13/16″ bit, I had to work my way up. The handle on the back is an old axe hand I cut down and threaded. The bolt shucks back and forth and the sights flip up and down. The gun pivots up and down as well as side to side. The pedestal has an ammo can bolted to the side for realism. I still need to drill the bolt holes for where it mounts in the back of my Jeep, but overall I think this is gonna look good in the M38A1. The gun also comes off the pedestal, I hope to make an attachable bipod for it in the future. Hopefully I get pulled over because the cop thinks it’s real, that means I did a good job making it!”
