1948? CJ-2A/3B San Fernando Valley, CA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3B • TAGS: , , , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6900

Has an unusual body.  My first thought was unibody, maybe fiberglass(?), as I can’t see seams between the front clip and the body.  In fact, the hood appears to be a normal sized low hood that sits a top a solid CJ-3B clip (fenders/body/grille all molded/welded together).

“1948 Jeep Willys, 289l V-8, auto trans, B&M shifter, low miles, new interior and upholstery, soft top included, all terrain tires, aux. fuel tank rack, alloy wheels, tow bar, clean paint, runs excellent.”

1946 CJ-2A Arizona **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A, M-38 • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $35,750.

Bill spotted this …  as he suggested, sit down …. the auction estimate was $12,000 – $17,000 which in itself is an inflated price in my opinion.  However, this past weekend this franken jeep sold for $35,750.

“63 hp, 134.2 cu. in. flathead four-cylinder engine, Carter carburetor, three-speed manual gearbox with low-range, four-wheel drive with live axles front and rear with semi-elliptic leaf springs, four-wheel hydraulic drum brakes. Wheelbase: 80″

– From the Bill Jacobs Collection
– Only 578 miles since total nut-and-bolt restoration
– Original Forest Service Jeep with shovel and axe included
– 4WD with low range, trailer hitch, full gauge package

The 1946 Jeep offered here is beautifully finished in white. It was reportedly the property of the US Forest Service and carries the appropriate axe and shovel. It was the subject of an extremely detailed two-year restoration in 2001 by Jim Neirynck of Macomb Township, Michigan.”

Dan saves the day!

• CATEGORIES: News This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

My car broke down on i84 near hermiston tonight. My hose sprung a leak and i lost coolant over a stretch of a few miles. I didnt notice until my warning light voice activated, basically telling me to get off the damn road. After an hour or so Dan, who works for the oregon DOT saw me and offered to help. one thing lead to another and it turns out Dan owned a 1973 cj5. As you can image, jeep talk filled the conversation for the remainder of our time together. After stops at the auto parts store and ace hardware, i got what i needed to put everything back together. So, big THANK YOU to Dan!!!!!
No updates tonight as i wont get home until late. Another day, another adventure!!!

Oldies but Goodies – Desert Dog Tires

• CATEGORIES: Biscuit, Features • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

The main reason for my trip to Seattle this weekend was to pick up a set of Forumla Desert Dog tires from Mitch with some good tread still left that I can use as offroad tires.  I have four more hurricane rims just aching for these tires, so I can’t wait to get them mounted.  This should really make Biscuit ready for summertime explorations.  Thanks Mitch!

Willys Shouldn’t Live in Cages — Victoria, BC circa 1990

• CATEGORIES: Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

I think this image was snapped just over 2 decades ago outside of Victoria, BC.  That’s me in the picture, shocked at the life that poor jeep must endure.  I wanted to demonstrate the unethical treatment of this Willys.  Just look how tight the cage is!  With no place to move, to roam, to really stretch out, this poor Jeep was forced to live a semi-sheltered life outdoors, a prisoner to the whims of the weather.  And, Canadians are usually so nice!
