(11/03/2010) This sports a fiberglass body and an unusual (probably fiberglass) hood. I’m not sure what the axles are from.
“For sale is a 1946 Willys MB customized jeep . Jeep has a built 283 smallblock installed , lift kit with 33’s, power steering, power brakes and hydraulic clutch. Body is fiberglass and in good shape. Motor has a new 750 double pumper Holley and runs well . Drivetrain is sound and all universals are in good shape . Both drive shafts are CV jointed to acomedate lift kit . Has Gas tank and battery in rear with heater in between seats . Also has New starter , rebuilt brake and clutch master cylinders and slave cylinder . Most brake lines new . Jeep is running in pictures and shows good oil pressure, temperature and charging . I have had it through the woods , in the mud and on the highway and it does all three like an animal . This is not for your 16 yr. old kid unless you need to downsize family . Come take a look and hear it run . Has tow bar so you can take home or I will deliver on trailer for fuel cost if you live near by . 845-246-1303”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $10,500
(09/03/2010) The large dashboard speedometer and the cutdown entrances for driver and passenger suggest to me this is a DJ-3A body. Also, the windshield looks like the front portion of a DJ Hardtop. (see what it is supposed to look like on the CJ-3B).
“Custom Jeep Willys. 10,500 OBO gets this awsome jeep. New 3 spd T-90 Transmission and Dana Transfer Case, Tilt wheel, Power Steering , 2.3 Ltr Engine. Too much to list. Must see. Serious enquiries only please.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000
(12/24/2010) Unclear how ‘little’ work needs to be done.
“Needs a little work ”
A reader named Ron wrote me the other day. He spotted a great deal on a restorable truck at a great price and now has a website with pics of the early work (I’ve included a couple pics below). Click on the photogallery to see all the pics. Ron already has a 1971 CJ-5 and his son a 84 CJ-8; you can see pics of those vehicles in the photogallery as well. Congrats on the find and good luck with the rebuild!
Ron writes, “We are in the middle of the off frame restoration of the 61 Willys. It was purchased new in 61 by a lady with a farm in Connecticut. She ordered it with a snow plow and a hydraulic dump bed. It only has 22,000 miles. I bought it from her grandson.”
Here’s the truck before restoration. It looks like a good starting point.
Here’s a look at how the rear of the dump bed frame looks.
And here’s a closeup of the dump mechanism.
The flattie looks like a rust bucket.

Looks like it has a PTO winch.
“I have an old willys jeep that was going to be a project for the hunting lease that never got started. So with to many projects and not enough time it has to go. I do not have the tittle for it the motor and trans where gone when I got it. Body is very rusty started to remove front clip to install and engine but never finished. Green grille was purchased to replace the yellow one. Axles are original and frame looks solid.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
The best parts might be those aluminum slot rims and tires.
