Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (09/29/2010) The price looks right and the engine looks good.
“I have a 1953 Willys CJ3B Jeep, it is in Good/Fair condition. I bought it in 2009 and drove it for a year than parked it in storage to work on it. The rest is history. I changed the oil, greased all joints, and changed the fluid in both diffs. It needs a full restoration if you wanna go that route.
134 c.i. OHV 4 cylinder, 3 spd. manual with twin stick transfer case
Dana 20 front axle, Dana 44 rear axle
This vehicle does not run but the engine is not seized up, I removed the rear drive shaft so it can be moved. It needs more than I can give it and I hate to let it go, but I’d rather see someone else driving it on the road, than have it sitting in front of my house.”
