“15inch by 8.5 inch turbine rims from the 70’S. Bolt holes are 5 on 5.5 Ford and Jeep pattern. Only 2 rims have road rash as seen in pics, all rims have the clear coat yellowing and peeling, they are dirty from being outside. They may be real magnesium because they do seem light. Manufacturer unknown not stamped.”

“1964 JEEP WILLYS FORWARD CONTROL FC-170 M-677 CREW CAB 4X4 MARINE ISSUE.
This is an extremely rare version of the jeep fc-170. The m-677 was a crew cab and was a military issue only. Production number estimates are between 300-700 but to my knowledge nobody knows the actual number. Very few survive today. This is a really cool little jeep and gets tons of attention. I couldn’t get it home without having to talk to people everywhere I stopped. I’ve been to many carshows and never seen one. I’ve never seen one driving or anywhere in person until I bought it. This truck is mostly original and has only had a couple owners. The gentleman I bought it from had owned it since at least 1979, maybe earlier. I have registrations going back that far in his name. I believe he purchased it from a military or government auction. Original marine nomenclature tag is on the dash. It is hard to see all the numbers in the pics, but they are clearly visible in person and nothing is worn off. Here are all the details on the jeep/willys. Included is a picture link with MANY MORE PICTURES. Also some pics of other m677’s. Thanks.

Two Jeeps at Marine Vacuum Services in Seattle

• CATEGORIES: Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Ann and I drove to her VA appointment on Beacon Hill near downtown Seattle Wednesday, taking Interstate-5 northbound as usual. As we approached the Cleveland High School exit, I was babbling about something, since forgotten, when I looked west toward nothing in particular. Suddenly, I realized I was looking at two flatties. How I kept from wrecking while I was rubber-necking should be considered a miracle, because one of the two jeeps looked like an early Philippines Jeepney.

Ann realized I was staring at the two vehicles and knew I’d tell her we’d be investigating them a little closer. Fortunately, she’s a good sport.

After a little research, I discovered the jeeps are sitting on a container at the Marine Vacuum Services (Mar-Vac) yard. Here’s our photo (we left the camera with the telephone at home . . . sigh). Pretty neat! I don’t know how I’ve missed them all these years.
