Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I have an upgraded/restored Willys CJ3A. Make no mistake, this is setup to be a 4 x 4 monster-mudder & street rod, not a mellow collector’s vehicle. It has a very strong Chev 350 w/headers and almost brand new dual Flowmasters (a little loud). Edelbrock 4 barrel (no high rise manifold). Alluminum cross flow radiator with electric fan & transmission cooler. TH400 auto trans w/B&M shifter. Has twin shifter Dana 20 transfer case. Has 4 inch spring lift and 2 inch body lift with quality rubber mounts. It has almost brand new Corbeau front bucket seats with matching rear bench. Full cage roll bar (padded). Saginaw steering (manual–really tight–NO slop or play) with tilt steering wheel and collum ignition switch. 11 inch drum brakes with aftermarket master cylender on firewall (hanging pedal). All gauges, switches, lights, turn signels, emergency flashers, wipers and heater ALL work great. Duamatic front hubs. Both front & rear lockers. 33 x 12.50 R15LT tires (90% tread left).
There is NO cancer rot anywhere. A little patch of bedliner is peeling under back seat with just a little surface rust. The diamond plate accents are mainly for looks (just makes side steps more usable–they’re still intact under plating). Clear Wa. title. Tabs good for next 11 months.
Now, the issues (not very many): needs coolant saver and tubing installed. Only has bikini top currently. Needs dust cover for transmission bellhousing. That’s pretty much it.”

“The Empire tractor consisted of military power components from World War II-era jeeps. It had a 4-cylinder, 40 hp Willys-Overland engine, a Model T-84 Spicer 3-speed transmission, Spicer transfer case with high and low speeds, Willys rear end, steering column and gearbox. It also had PTO, individual clutch-type rear brakes with a stop provided for parking and a rear belt pulley. The fuel tank and an Empire-style seat were mounted on a large operator’s platform (made from Navy ship decking). Its simple, basic gauges (ammeter, oil pressure and temperature), ignition switch and starter button also came from the jeep. The Empire tractor was originally made for exportation in the Lend-Lease Program after World War II.”

What’s covering the rear wheel wells?
“I never got stuck….. This baby has the famous 4 wheel drive that was used in WW2….including High and Low Range. The Jeep is updated to a “Dauntless V6” engine that was totally rebuilt and has less than 20 hours….it purrs. I also just replaced the transmission and it syncs up beautifully…. Seats are in great shape and your wife will love them. This is just the vehicle you need in the woods or to just bum around town. Yes it is “street legal.” Only reason I am selling is that my wife has arthritis and has a difficult time getting in….she wants one of those low slung UTVs. I have more than $7000 in the baby….but she has to go. ”

“1946 Willy Jeep, good tires & rims, vinyl top, tow bar, runs.”
It’s a project.
“Here is a heavily modified old willys. Just about everything on it has been upgraded. Obviouslt the whole rear has been replaced with a tubular cage. I made it to offer great rollover strength but still mimic the classic body lines of the original willys, hence the curved door openings and the opening to fit the original willys tailgate.. The suspension uses Wider YJ leaf springs all around. reverse shackles up front and a 3/4 elliptical system in the rear, which allows for major flex. The old screw type steering was replaced with a heavy duty Saginaw box and beefed up custom linkage all over. All 4 wheels have been converted to disc brakes with stainless lines. the drivetrain however I kept stock, first, because of the nostalgia factor of keeping it willys, Second, because it has proven itself. Back when this was a normal jeep I could plow tons of snow and not slow it down at all or drive down the freeway at a fair speed. I have not started he engine in a few years but I’m sure it will crank over.
As I said, this is a project so it needs finished. Off the top of my head, it needs driveshafts put in, sheetmetal installed as the floor and sides (optional) brake lines run, pedals installed, amongst a few other things.
I am losing out big time asking what I am for it, but we all know you never get what you put into them. I just need to clear out some projects. You can call or text me at 4 four O-31 nine- O 47 O”

This doesn’t run at the moment, but looks like it might make an interesting restoration project.
“1962 Willys Jeep for sale for parts or Bonded title. This is an extremely rare Hard top Jeep. The front bumper has a tow bar, fog lights and winch (unknown condition) and ammo cans mounted on it. The rear Bumper has Fuel cans and lay down equipment/luggage rack on it. The Jeep body is in excellent condition with no visible rust. The Hard top is in good condition. The doors for hard top have rust holes but can be repaired. Seats need to be replaced. The engine turns over by hand but I don’t know if it runs because the keys where lost (the person I got the jeep from claims it ran good about a year ago??). I have several Jeeps and only selling this one because I just started a new Business and need the money to get it going. $2500.00”
