(07/31/2013) From the grille, to the body, to the rear shock mount, this looks more like a MB/GPW than a M-38.

“For your consideration is a cleanly & near fully restored 1951 Willys M38 Jeep custom. Appropriately nicknamed “Killer Bee” (it has 3 hand painted Custom logos); this project began as a repair, and with time gradually ended up becoming a Top-down Custom Restoration project.

The Doors are hard removable, have sliding windows and are Black, Medium Textured Rhino Lining.

All parts are new as you would expect from a resto-rebuild. . . i.e. water pump, thermostat, fuel pump, oil pump, oil pump drive, hoses, plugs, plug wires etc.

New Brakes, front Disk Brake Conversion, new calipers, rotors, pads, brakes lines master cylinder, power booster, rear shoes with reconditioned drums, dual exhaust, 2.25 inch through Magnaflow mufflers.

This truck is sitting on Rancho 2.5 in lift spring, the springs have been moved to on top of the axles, riding on 33X12.5 15s tires (with more than 90% life remaining).

The Jeep runs great, I use it as my daily driver, I want to start a new project. . . with a little larger profile. With Approximately $18,500 invested, my loss is YOUR GAIN!! Call Ed at Home @ 209-two nine five-four one nine three, or text me at 209-four one eight-nine one zero nine.”

• CATEGORIES: CJ5 This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.

This needed a battery at the very least. The seller needs to sell quickly. It includes a warn winch.

“My husband had started on this as a project before he got sick. He passed away a week and a half ago and I’m left with this. I know it ran good but needed a new battery (which now is missing, suppose he took it out and was going to put on in). Its soft top. He already has the seats that were going to go in it so those will be included”

(08/17/2012) This has some rare coil springs installed on the rear.  The seller is a little confused about the CJ-3B.  The overload springs shown in the first pic might be an earlier version of the Canfield Springs shown in the brochure in the following post.

1953 CJ-3A Baton Rouge, LA **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-3A • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE: Was listed at $4000.  **SOLD**

“I am looking for a good home for a very nice stock 3A. I bought the jeep in 2006 and since then I have replaced a lot of parts to make the jeep a safe driver and reliable. The jeep IS NOT perfect, but is very solid and drives great. It is basically a bone stock jeep except the generator is a 12 volt not a 6 volt. I also have an extra body and windshield plus a bunch of extra parts that go with the jeep. In full disclosure the previous owner repaired the passenger side rear quarter panel. He did a decent job and it is structurally fine but it is definitely not perfect. I bought the extra body for the purpose of correcting what the previous owner did. If you are interested give me a call and we can talk jeeps and I can give you all the details hard core flat top lovers love to talk about.”

1968 New Mexico Jeep Trip

• CATEGORIES: Features, Magazine, Old Images Jeeping, Trips This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

The May 1968 issue of New Mexico Magazine has a good story and pictures on an annual jeep trip by the Las Cruces Four Wheelers and the Las Cruces Jeep Club. Fifty-five people in 17 four wheel drive vehicles, including at least one Landrover, Scout, Bronco, Flatfender and CJ-5 (several of these), made the 32 mile trip through a portion of the San Francisco River.

The article includes a map, pictures, and tales of their exploits. As you can see from the pictures, they spent plenty of time deep in water, crossing the river back and forth. The article begins on the map page (page 2). It’s a pretty large picture.
