Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. What happens when a Howitzer is pushed from a plane, but its parachute fails to open? Well, these paratroopers learned first hand that the weapon turns into a large paperweight. At least the parachute on the jeep and soldiers worked!

I really like the red top on this jeep.
“This jeep came from South Dakota in 2000 and was totally disassembled and rebuilt with the best paints and parts available.
The wiring came from Vintage Wiring , correct original wiring.
The body was reassembled using s. s. nuts and bolts.
Original top bows and new Red Sunbrella top created as original, top can be full or half cab. No doors or side curtains .(as pictured)
The wheels have optional s. s. trim rings.
The lockout hubs are first generation Kelly hubs.
The jeep has the latest Advance Adapters Overdrive.
The jeep is mechanically sound and drives very well down the road.”

It’s a nice looking flattie and it’s serial number is early, but the lack of VEC details reduces the importance of its early roots.
“This is one of the first 1,000 civilian Jeeps made in 1945. Serial number is 10984, making it the 984th or 983rd Jeep made, depending on which source you read. (Some articles state the serial number began at 10,000 and others state it began with 10,001.”

It looks like there’s a pile of money put into this unusual rig. A couple things need fixing.
“This is a high-dollar build custom 1977 Jeep CJ that is just unreal! People come from all over to see this and get a picture with it. It is an extreme head-turner!! It will snap necks! The local police love it and offered to give me an escort wherever I need to go with it! It will dominate any 4×4 show. I own a car lot and use it for advertising. It is perfect for drawing business in.
It is an all steel body with the obvious mod, two extra doors! There is no roof with it. I was going to build an aluminum roof but never got around to it. It’s always been garage kept. The tires are 52 inch. The rims are 20 inch. It has a gorgeous small block chevy 350 with 350 turbo trans. I’ll add additional info about the rears tomorrow. I need to double check. It has air suspension. There is about 12-18 inches of travel with air. There is $60,000 invested in this. I use the term invested loosely… You will be investing though. This is an investment for your business or personal collection. The loss has already been absorbed by the original builder and myself. I can’t really call it a loss because it did it’s job. I sold a lot of cars and trucks due to the increased traffic this thing brought in.
Things it needs: the steering box mounted more sturdy. The mount flexes. It has a leak in the air suspension.
Please Call me before buying it now. It is a custom Jeep and I’m selling it as-is where is.”

“I have (7) used 31×15.50×15 Goodyear Super Terra Tires. These tires are not for Road use. These are 8 ply tires and are for off road use only. They came off of a ditch witch but can be used for mud bogging and other fun stuff like that. $350.00 for all seven”
