This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (08/05/2014) Certainly unusual.
“CJ2A Jeep frame has very little rust, what is left of the tub is not rusted out, someone made a pickup / yard buggy out of it. Engine is not in the jeep, comes with a Ford 200 inline 6 and an adapter plate. Engine is in good condition and is a bolt in to replace what was in it before. Has no title, good for parts, yard buggy and offroad toy.”

I have a 1951 Willys Jeep CJ3A. It’s a nice original old Jeep, no 350 engine in there. The old Super Sonic flathead is still in there though its seen better days. The body is rusty but if you like patina it’s ready to go. If shiny paint is your thing it would probably be more cost effective to replace the tub. The frame and running gear look good though. The ol CJ rolls, steers and all 4 tires hold air. That’s the extent of its mobility. It hasn’t run since the ’80s. There’s no title. I bought it not too long ago on an impulse and now I’m thinkin “what was I thinkin!?” I would consider a trade for a nice vintage truck – 60’s or older“

The CJ-3A in the top photo was listed on eWillys back on August 30th, 2012. It looked pretty sound to me, but according to buyer and restorer Scott Mills, a mountain of bondo was underneath the paint. Beautiful work Scott!
He writes, “I found this 49cj3a on your site 2 years ago- after sanding and a little blasting I found that someone used what seemed like 10lbs of body filler and rivets! As many of my purchases go, buyers remorse plagued me for months! Well, I replaced panels and spent hours hammering out the tub. The only splurge was a new hood and stock rims, I managed to save most everything else. My wife has a fashion blog here in Houston and used my Cj3a in this recent post:

Here’s a 1943 GPW that I featured on eWillys back in 2010. It was rough and had a funky windshield. I was sure it was headed for a car crusher.
Instead, someone bought this off of ebay and restored it! Mario, now the proud owner, purchased this from the rebuilder and was looking through eWillys when he stumbled upon the original post from 2010. So, here’s the original post on eBay, plus the after photos. If anyone knows any more history about this GPW, please let Mario know by commenting below the post. Thanks!
“Up for auction is a 1943 Military syle Ford Jeep. Once owned by Edward White who I was told was a Military Commander. Clean Title. Vehicle has been sitting for a number of years and is in need of full restore. Engine has been pulled and disassembled but looks to be complete and comes with Vehicle. Drivers side has a couple bullet holes for authenticity. Body has rust but can be replaced with reproduction style, which can be purchased online. Engine may be able to be rebuilt however I was told you can purchase military surplus crate motor but haven’t researched enough to tell you where. Engine number on Title matches number etched on block ( GPW98036 )while the engine casting number is GPW-6015.”

Jerk from Sweden shared this strange ad that was posted to Sweden’s version of Craiglist, Blocket. Pay particular attention to the background photobomb in the fourth photo. Jerk added that the truck is an ex firefighter truck with a swedish cabin. Chevy V8 and 700 tranny. The price in dollar is some $8-9000.

Glenn learned more about this jeep (commented below). This post-hole digging CJ-5 includes two oil tanks mounted along the sides.

Listed at a 1950, it looks like mostly a GPW/MB with a F-head motor and CJ-5 grille.
