Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. The seller doesn’t mention it, but this is a blended body, most likely a CJ-3A with a M-38A1.

“It has a 3 stick 4-wheel drive, 229 Chevy V6, and 1-ton Timken rear axle. It has a sound body, with surface rust only, and includes the original wheels. It is licensed and titled. Runs good and is ready for restoration or whatever you like.”

Anyone ever see a data plate quite like the on on this jeep?
“1948 cj 2 willys jeep. Has a ford v6 ( I was told it is a 2.9 colgne but your guess is as good as mine). It appears to have stock trans, transfer case, and axles. I know the carb and battery are brand new (I put them on myself) It has a superwinch mounted up front (it works) and a tow bar also. Back bumper has a class 3 receiver. I also have a roll bar, full canvas with doors (in good shape) some assembly required.
I am not gonna blow a bunch of sunshine up your a$# and make a bunch of promises & guarantees… what you see is what you get! It does run and drive, but I would advise you (strongly) to bring a trailer.”
