Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Finally upgraded. 1977 jeep dj-5 Have been delivering mail for 7 years as a RCA until 2/28/2014 in this jeep. Less than 5000 miles on new {not used} 232 6 cylinder engine, Last week had the rear end completele redone including new axle bearings and wheel cylinders, also new front drums, brakes and wheel cylinders and front tires and both front leaf springs were just replaced. also has new tranny cooler. Ready to work mail tray included. also have spare NEW drivers seat. 2 wheel drive.”

(04/22/2014) Looks solid. Updated motor and tranny.
“I am selling my one of kind 1942 Ford GPW with a 1951 M100 Trailer. Sold as a package deal only. I did a complete frame off restoration of this jeep and trailer in 2004. The paint is a little faded, but pretty much everything is good to go. The engine and transmission where missing when I got the jeep, so I installed a 1985 4.3 liter Chevy V6 with a 4 barrel carburetor and a later model Military M38 T-90 transmission. This Jeep has lots of power and is a blast to drive! The transmission does pop out of second gear sometimes. I just put $1200.00 worth of new tries and wheels on the jeep last August. I kept the jeep as close to original as possible, except for the engine and transmission. It was titled as a 1948 Willys Jeep when I bought it, so that is the way it is still titled. I am asking $9500.00 cash for it and the trailer. Email this post for more info.”

(04/27/2014) It’s a project.
“I have a 1948 cj2 that I started to restore but have changed directions. The engine has been disasembled and the block was bored out .60 with new valve guides. I have new pistons and bearing with gasket kit and new valves. It is ready to be put back together.
It has 5 16 inch wheels, tow bar, a rack with two gas cans. I have several new parts ($160).
For a total of $2000 I will throw in the eng hoist and stand. I have a extra radiator also that goes with it.
I will not part it out all or nothing.

“A rare, completely original 1960 FC 170 Jeep 4×4. The cab is in very good condition and the bed has some rust on the bottom edge. It is NOT RUNNING and has a clear title.”

“Very good condition, engine is disassembled for rebuild, transmission and transfer case is tight. Has new seat covers, exhaust system, gas tank and some weather stripping. All rust has been cut out and replaced with new metal and or panels. Needs wiring harness, engine rebuild, odds and ends parts, paint, and reassembly.”
