Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Tom Sterndale had a couple questions: I have just become aware that there are two types of accelerator linkages from pedal to carberator. One has a pivot pin on the lifter cover and up over the valve cover. The other is mounted to the rear of the engine and work the carb. from the right side of the motor.
1. Is the carb. the same with linkage attaching at same place?
2. When were each used?

Runs and drives, but has an unusual front.
“I have a 1977 Jeep. It has an all fiberglass body. That’s nice so it never rusts. It has a good running 4cyl. Ford engine. The transmission is an automatic with overdrive. It runs and drives great. Its not 4 wheel drive but it has a posi rearend. The steering wheel is on the right side.”

I thought this was interesting due to the aftermarket dash and the doors. I haven’t seen the dash used very often in the M-38A1s or CJ-5s.
“I haven’t been able to post pics. But I have some. The jeep needs in my opinion minor body work. It has a dodge fireball v6 engine that runs. It has hydraulic pump and lines that run a very powerful wench. With a little work this WILLYS could be rock climbing or cruising in no time. I’m selling because it was a project me and my grandfather had been working on but we both don’t have much time for it and he needs some money and I want to put some money down on a used Harley.”

“1942 Bantam military jeep trailer , not perfect, but is a good candidate for restoration, or tow it as is, has some rust in the floor, has good 15″ tires, rolls and tows easy, has the hard to get center casting, with a 1 7/8’s ball hitch welded to a cutoff lunette, has the very early 2 piece axle with the cast center cover, has a tailgate, (nicely done) , hasn’t been registered in years, comes with bill of sale only, $900 OBO”
