1957 CJ-5 Grand Haven, MI $1450

• CATEGORIES: CJ5 This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

It runs and drives. Has a PTO, snow plow and top. body is rough.

“This is an old Jeep that will need some work. It is rough and rusty but the body is not laying on the ground. The Jeep does have some nice OEM extras. Including an original PTO that drives the front winch. Also has an old plow that I think may have come with the Jeep. It is just a manual turn and hyd. lift with the original jeep pump. Also has an original top and doors. Jeep will start and run fine day and the next time it goes to start may or may not start. So it will need some attention. Not sure what the problem is but it is still an original 6 volt system. May need new tune up parts.”

“This is among the rarest of all the Willys jeeps. This is a 1951 panel delivery and there were only 154 made. This one came to me in a lot of cars I bought. I had to buy all of them to get the one I wanted so I ended up with others that I’m going to sell. This cool old ride has a 1971 model 302 Mustang engine and transmission, as well as a Ford 8” rear end (with 2.79 gears). All I’ve done under the hood since I’ve owned it is rebuild the carburetor and replaced the fuel filter and fuel pump and changed the oil & filter. The engine starts right up and runs good. The transmission works just as it should also. I put a new master cylinder on it but only have rear brakes. I believe that the front wheel cylinders are seized up. I bought rebuild kits for the front wheel cylinders but have not had time to rebuild them.

Gayland forwarded these pics from a co-worker of his who visited Colombia. It’s a Casa Willys Restaurant (notice the sign in the upper right of the first photo) located in Salento, Colombia. It’s well rated by Trip Advisor.

Factory-Looking Hole in CJ-5 Body

• CATEGORIES: Features This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Bill Reiss has this 1965 CJ-5 with what appears to be a trailer wiring hole similar to the hole in the early 2A’s that had leftover military bodies. Anyone ever seen a factory hole like this on a CJ-5??

The hole is cut PERFECTLY, like it was done on a panel prior to body assembly… And the original blue paint is on the edges of the cutout. This is unusual, as I’ve never seen this before. I haven’t found evidence of an optional wiring kit/plug/whatever in the ’65 print info.

Anyone else ever seen this? Was it possibly an option?
