Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This photo shows a MB/GPW that’s got a stretched rear. There’s no obvious indication an extension was tacked onto the back of a standard body. It was published in the May 7, 1946, issue of the Spokesman Review.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8900.
“I have owned this JEEP for over 20 years and it has never given me trouble and has always done what is asked of it. Traveling at highway speeds is no problem and it crawls fantastically well. Everything works on this very capable trail rig.
For those not familiar with a CJ-6, this is basically a ’62 CJ-5 that has been stretched 20″ between the door and the rear wheel arch at the factory. This longer wheel base makes the 6 more stable, and have a larger interior capacity than the 5. I am 6’3” and have no problem with legroom in this JEEP.

This has a fuel inlet, but it looks to be aftermarket.
“42 Ford Jeep 4cyl flathead 4×4. Needs carburetor, not currently running.
Electric wench with remote control. Lockable front hubs. Windshield lowers onto front hood. Front and rear towing receivers. Rare Ford insignia on rear. Has auxiliary hand crank start in addition to key start. ”
