From Hemmings:
“The Klairmont Kollections Automotive Museum in Chicago announced that it is permanently closing its doors, also confirming that the entire collection of vintage and classic cars will go up for auction this September without reserve.”
There are a number of really cool cars being auctioned (e.g. “The Golden Sahara II“) but there are quite a few Jeeps that will be auctioned as well, including some quite rare models:
1966 Jeep CJ-5A Tuxedo Park Mark IV
1970 Jeep CJ-5 Renegade
1951 Willys Jeep Station Sedan
1955 Willys Jeep M38A
1985 Jeep Grand Wagoneer
1968 Jeep Wagoneer
1950 Willys-Overland Jeepster Convertible
1950 Willys-Overland Jeepster Convertible
1960 Willys Jeep DJ-3A Surrey Gala
1951 Jeep Willys CJ-3A
1947 Willys-Overland Jeep CJ-2A
1986 Jeep Wrangler Serial No. 1 SUV
1993 Jeep Wrangler Custom
1950 Willys Jeep Model 473 Pickup
1969 Kaiser Jeep J-3000 Gladiator Pickup
1985 Jeep CJ-10A Flightline Tug
1965 Jeep CJ-6A Tuxedo Park Mark IV
1955 Jeep CJ-5 Cutaway Chassis
All of these vehicles appear to be in top cosmetic condition, but (as with any museum vehicle) they will likely require some (possibly significant) work prior to being road worthy.
Or you could simply buy them all, and start your own Jeep Museum!
Here’s a link to the entire auction catalog if you’d like to browse the other cars and memorabilia being auctioned:
