Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Mike writes, “Dave- I am trying to restore a 1952 CJ3A that I picked up. The stock 4 cylinder had three of the 4 rods thru the block. I am really looking fro a 1951-1953 block to reuild this with. This block has the additional bolt holes for the bellhousing in the block unlike the earlier 2a’s.”

Blaine spotted this CJ-5 with a factory V8 at Ecola St. Park along the Coast of Oregon. The angle top is pretty rare, though it could use some retightening.
