Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Willys Jeep cj2a-mechanically good, body fair to good. Has a cj3a windshield installed, comes with but not installed rollbar assy, sidesteps, no top but a new all weather cover,it has later cj 15 inch wheels and almost new m&s tires (also comes with 5-16 inch jeep wheels), all 4 new springs (mounted on another Jeep but never ran), front hubs, diamond plate rear body covers (not installed) a really nice tow bar and towing lights plus lots of other Jeep parts.”
This might be a good price.
“Runs good, i drove it around town before it got t o cold. Everything works but a couple of the gauges and brake lights. I’ve put everything from plugs and wires to carb. rebuild, bearings in the front end, hoses and belts, lights. Gas tank rusted out so i put a plastic one in for now. It might be the carb or a fuel pump. I suspect the problem is cheap to solve. This might have little or no rust.

The price is a bit high on this project. However, what interests me is that this appears to be a M-38 body, with the exception of a battery box. And, this doesn’t appear to be a replacement body to me.

Bob spotted this unusually modified MB. The seller believes this was converted by the Greek Army.

This looks to have a replacement body.
“1948 Jeep Willy’s CJ2A. This jeep has been fully restored around 10 yrs ago. It had 10,000 dollars put into it. It is in extremely good shape and virtually rust free. The paint is still in excellent shape. It has been converted over to 12VDC so as to make it easier to start, especially in cold weather. It has a flathead 4cyl, and runs excellent. The 4 wheel drive works great and shifts smooth. The gear ratio is 5:38. It has been stored indoors. The only trades I am interested in would be a 3/4 to 1 ton 4X4 truck either chevy, gmc, or dodge. Of equal value.
