Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Here’s a restored CJ-2A.
“I hate, hate, hate that I have to sell this Jeep. I purchased this CJ2A several years ago and have 293 recorded man hours into the restoration. I have a full photo album of pictures from the very early stages through completion. However, only recent ones are available online. I have taken a few pictures of the pictures with my camera phone. Too much detail to go into regarding the restoration, but I do have a printout of everything that went into it. It runs well and is started weekly to keep everything in working order. T-90 Transmission and Transfer Case Model 18. Engine: #J45856. This restoration is one of the nicest that I’ve ever seen. This jeep is a great collectible and a piece of American history. Please feel free to ask questions, I’ll do my best to answer…. Make an offer! Can and would love to ship.”

Given the parts, this seems like a good price. I’d think this would have the Dana 30 & Centered Dana 44 as well. I think I’ve seen this for sale previously.

(09/4/09) More than a few mods to this jeep.
“1943 jeep willys millitary .Stock clean chevy 350 4 bolt main sm 420 trans 205 tranfer case chevy k5 blazer Dana 44 front with high steer kit .chevy 12 bolt rear . Frame has been boxed in and stretched 18 inches for longer springs and power steering.Has 36×13.50 x15 super swamper iroks on black steel wheels .Could use some fresh rear tires.4 wheels great and drives pretty good down the road for having bias ply tires.Love this jeep it is really fun to drive.Have baby coming need to sell”
I really like the composition of this image. One thing I had not seen before was a gun mounted to the windshield. I guess they didn’t drop the windshield?

“1948 Jeep Willys in excellent condition. Well cared for and garage kept. Absolutely no rust and the Jeep runs great. It’s a four wheel drive, 4 cylinder engine, 2 speed with canvas top. Great jeep for the cabin, hunting or just running around town with the kids and dog. I purchased it from the original owner and just don’t have room or time for more toys.
