“1947 cj2a runs good, brakes gone through, electrical re-wired 12volt and ungraded to fuse box, new guages ,turn signals-lights-brake lights all work.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $1300
There’s some odd points in the body on the passenger side and I can’t tell if that’s the lighting, rust, or paint. This doesn’t run.
“I have a 1952 Willys Jeep for sale. It has the original flathead 4 cylinder motor in it. It is 4 wheel drive. Comes with the half cab and doors. Would make a great project! Does not run. Asking $1400 Please contact Matt with BMB Auto Sales at 573-424-3144 for more information, Thanks.”
“I bought the car in 1998, and I spent six years restoring it down to the frame. I have most, if not all receipts, amounting to roughly $28,000 investment, but truthfully it was as much a hobby project as it was a toy after the fact. A few years ago I was offered 30k for it, but I just couldn’t part with it at the time. I don’t drive it much. It stays garaged except for the weekly ’round the block drive. It had an early 60’s 265 cid, I replaced it with a 1972 327cid – 350 HP motor (from a corvette) overhauled by Greulich of Scottsdale (builder of professional grade racing engines.. several have powered winning racing machines at Firebird Raceway and elsewhere)….”
Here’s a clean, good looking cj-2a.
“1948 Jeep CJ2A Completely restored. Must See! Call Brett at 414-762-7773
Also for sale Bantam T-3C Civilian Jeep Trailer and other Willys Parts.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $350. I doubt this was ever a Gala, but it does seem to be a DJ-3A. **SOLD**
The price is right! This seems like a deal to me.
“
We our selling a 1960 Willys DJ-3A Surrey Gala. We bought it mainly for the body to build a rock crawler out of it. The origional color was pink. It has a CJ-2A windshield on it with an old Aluminum Hardtop (rare). This is a normal left hand drive 2wd Willys Jeep. The front axle is a straight axle and rides on leaf springs just like the 4wd Jeeps. It has a motor, but is missing many of the parts like the oil pan, head, etc. It is the Go devil Flathead 4 backed by a 3spd manual column shift trans with OverDrive. Since this is a DJ3A the rear of the Jeep is solid with no tail gate, this is factory. It does have all of the steering pieces and as a whole is pretty darn complete. Feel free to come check it out and make us an offer. The frame is in very good shape and the tub would easily be restorable. The floors are even in pretty good shape. The hood is probably the worst part (dented). These are very rare and it has all of its factory serial data plates. Comes with only a bill of sale.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3700.
The seller notes, “I swapped in a good running L134 and generally cleaned everything up. runs great now and is still for sale.”
“1947 Willys CJ2A, all electrical works aside from wiper motor. Has good seats front and rear, roll cage,12 volt sys, front mounted steering box,2 gas tanks,5 new tires on white spokes, tow bar,GM tilt steering. This Jeep was from AZ, so there’s very little rust and no dents. I just installed a recently rebuilt L head engine and this truck runs great.”
UPDATE: A reader noted that this has already sold
It is very rare to see one of these in such poor condition.
“Elvis owned one. 1960 Pink surrey gala jeep. Condition restorable original parts. Bought in May 1978. odometer reading 20,000. Engines apart but complete. $3,ooo or best offer.”
This might be a good price. The body appears in good condition.
“1948 Willy’s Jeep for Sale, The originator of the SUV/4 Wheeler Craze….all original. Flathead 4, fold down windshield-good glass, tail gate, removable tow bar, 6 volt electrical system-needs battery. Stored inside for several years. This could be the “look what I found in this guys garage” discovery of a life time. Needs some work, mostly TLC, will deliever if in the Salt Lake area”
This looks mostly stock.

This might not be a bad price if the body is in very good shape.
“Pictured below is a 1944 Willys MB Military Jeep. It has what I believe to be is the original T84 transmission and Spicer 18 transfer case. The engine is not the original L head. Someone has replaced the original engine with a Willys F head. The windshield frame is from a M38. Overall the vehicle is in pretty good shape for its age. It runs and drives really well. I received this vehicle as payment for a debt. I’m looking to get $3,250 or best offer. Cash only please.”
