What I find interesting about this ad forwarded by Marc is the emphasis on Ethyl being a trademark name. Ethyl had already been around for twenty years by the time this ad was published, so I wonder what prompted this type of ad.

Ann forwarded this link to me. Is it possible the author was actually paid for this post? I’m not sure if the article or the comments are funnier.

1974 DJ-5 Northwest Georgia **Status Unknown**
UPDATE: Was listed at $2950. **Status Unknown**
Not perfect, but runs and drives.
“1974 Am General Jeep DJ-5 RHD. Rear wheel 2WD with automatic, 232 CID in line 6 cyl. Fully Functional and ready for mail route. Odometer functions and shows a little less than 73K, but being 40 years old I have no idea if that is correct. Tires very good, brakes and steering recently adjusted. Just installed new radiator and wiper blades 3 weeks ago and new Duralast Gold battery 4 weeks ago. I purchased this in January of this year to use on a rural mail route as a part-time carrier, and used it several times on the route, but was just hired as a full time driver for Fedex, so I no longer need it.
Previous owner replaced many parts and I have his service/parts records as well as my own. Cosmetically, it’s not by any means perfect, but it’s not a certified clunker, either. I have not had it tested for emissions so I have no idea whether it will pass or not. It does run and drive good and I have a clean title.”
1952 Wagon Minden, NV **SOLD**
