Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “I bought this jeep as a project, little did I know it would take more time and money than I could put into it. It was converted to 12v by the previous owner. I have already removed the tub and old wiring. The engine is not seized but will need to be overhauled. Frame and tub need rust work. “50’s era 2wd Willys Jeep. It has a 289 Ford V8 and 3 speed manual trans. Engine is locked up. Its got a dana 44 posi trac 5 lug rear. Body tub is rusted out. I have one good flat fender,windsheild frame and hood. The frame is in really good condition.No title. Will sell whole or for parts. ”

“Totally restored 1945 Willy MB. Engine completely rebuilt by machine shop, Transmission rebuilt, new transfer assembly, new gas tank and fuel lines, New brakes and bearings, new brake lines. New radiator. Many new parts. Windshield has a few cracks but I can replace this for the next owner. Fully titled. Drives good”

(11/07/2013) “My 1948 Willy’s Jeep CJ2A Truck needs a good home. I originally got it to restore to it’s original natural beauty, but realized vehicle restorations just aren’t my thing. The body is original and sits on a C-10 frame. It has a 350 engine with a 4×4 that runs like a beast. Don’t’ know how many miles on the engine, but no problems with it. Everything else is solid also. It starts and runs good, plus it just looks really cool. Open to trade offers for other vehicles or bikes, just would like for them to run and safe to drive. ”

According to Even Erlien, both the FC-150Am and the Volvo c202 were built with specification given by the Swedish Army. The Jeep-Scania got round fenders and the Volvo got square. Here’s a comparison of the two:
