Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “49 CJ3a. 2.5 iron duke T19 4 speed Dana 18 t-case Dana 30 front Dana 44 rear. 5.38 gears Webber carb. HEI distributor 31″ Toyos. With matching spare. Engine will start with some tinkering. It will drive onto your trailer. It has only gas in it and the carb needs a cleaning.”
There might be some value here depending the extent of rust.

“Selling my grandpas 1951 willys cj3a. Has typical rust, but would make a great project! It’s a little ugly with the hood scoop, roll bar, and small tires but would clean up nicely!!! No motor or trans but everything else is there! No title but will be easy to apply for since it hasn’t been registered in many years! Great project or yard decor!”

(01/09/2020) This jeep has some mods and has been partially refurbed.
“1949 jeep CJ3A. Jeep has been completely restored including the warn overdrive. Motor, trans, front differential, rear differential, transfer case it has all been redone. I also have an original metal top that goes with it plus some other spare parts. Jeep sat in a building since 1979. It has been professionally tuned by a local shop. The fuel system, the brake system and the cooling system have all been gone through this jeep runs and drives amazingly It is in excellent condition”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $6500.
(02/18/2020) This chassis has a approx 1957 (based on the KS 0-9 speedo) DJ-3A convertible body, windshield, and front clip (or at least the grille) on it.
