Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This appears very nice, though there has been some body work done (no drain holes and it appears the tailgate might have been removed. The top looks pretty classic. Finally, this is a very early CJ-3A with a serial number of 11060.

The seller says it’s ready, but the top and doors aren’t in good shape and it still looks like it needs paint to me.

It’s hard to tell a lot from the small pictures, but this appears to be a project. Note how far forward the radiator is positioned. I hope that’s not where it attaches.

This Willys was purchased from Craig Colorado in 1980 and had a complete restoration at that time. The 302 was installed ahead of the original T-90 Transmission, a Warn Overdrive was added and the remaining drive train was original. In 1996 another restoration was completed to include the items listed above. The restorations, fabrications and modifications were accomplished by the owners.”
The price looks good. But … check out that rear bumper. That’s a round behind!

The console looks a little unusual. I’d like a closer look to see what they have done. It appears to go underneath the seats.

“1951 Willys Jeep for sale. Semi restored Willys jeep. This is a hard to find Jeep. Newly painted Battleship Grey and undercoated. new gas tank, gauges, wiring, windsheild, body is in great shape. No dents, rust, or cancer. 4WD and runs great. Stock 4cyl. flathead. Needs new tires and seat covers. Steering wheel is cracked.

There’s some odd points in the body on the passenger side and I can’t tell if that’s the lighting, rust, or paint. This doesn’t run.
