Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1954 Willy’s Jeep Cj-3b High-Hood “Frankenstein”
Third Owner, of this fantastic rare High-hood flat-fender jeep named Frankenstein.
Frankenstein got a frame off restoration done in an open back yard on a college budget in 2004. Then shortly after sat, and only drove around during the summer months. Now with a family and other projects competing for time, I want to hand Frankenstein off to someone who will take this beast to the next level. Runs and Drives..This thing screams and will burn rubber like a hot rod.
The Good — 95% Rust free jeep. Chevy 350, Edelbrock Carb. Long Tube Fenderwell exit headers, 2″ Rancho Lift springs. 1″ Lift shackles 0.5 Body lift. 33″ BFG ALL-Terrains (50-60% Tread), 6 point roll cage. Drop pitman arm, Typical Custom rear jeep bumper, Dual electric fans, Lots of extra parts.

(07/09/2014) It’s a project.
“1953 Willys CJ3B for sale. It is a project very near completion. I was going to build this into a crawler and beach vehicle.
The Good-
The body and frame have some surface rust but are solid. The F134 4 cylinder engine is original and has 130K miles on it. It ran 2 weeks ago when I finished wiring the ignition. The Carter carburetor was rebuilt a few months ago. The 12V alternator is brand new. The transmission is a NP435 6.68:1 first gear from Novak Adapters(http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/np435.htm) this with the adapters was around $2500 the transmission is rebuilt but if you looked at it its brand new. Novak did a leak down test before shipping. The transfer case is a Dana 18 2.46:1 low range. It was rebuilt before bolting it up to the transmission. The axles are Dana 25 and Dana 44 the gearing is 5.38. The final drive in low range in this is 88.4:1 plenty to crawl. The wiring harness is about 2 weeks old also.

(09/17/2014) The drains holes have been filled.
“You’re looking at a really nice Willys Jeep CJ3B. The jeep is in overall great shape. It has the 3-speed transmission with hi-lo shifter as well as 2wd-4wd shifter. Runs & drives good. Clutch is good. Shifts properly and stays in gear. 4-wheel drive works as it should. Brakes all gone through, body and frame in excellent condition, new gas tank, new seat cushions & covers, newer battery, suspension gone through, and a fresh coat of paint. A couple of the gauges aren’t working, but otherwise everything works as it should. The body doesn’t look the greatest (lots of dents and dings), but it is rust free and painted. New floor pans, body mounts etc., were installed before the paint job. The frame is also remarkably rust free. Tires are like new. Hope to get all the fluids and gear lubes changed in the coming weeks, but if I don’t, I’ll include all the gear lube I bought for it. Also comes with a box full of spare parts and a spare tire/wheel that hasn’t been restored yet.”

“1962 CJ-3B. Several new parts! This jeep cranks and runs and is drivable. It’s very solid, not much rust at all, very good body. Interior is good, and two extra tires and a hard top! 4wd (4 high and 4 low both work great!) Great shape! Feel free to call or text anytime $3,700 OBO! “I am selling my 1960 CJ3B jeep which I bought from the original owner about 20 years ago. Jeep is all original except it has hudson steering added which makes the jeep steer like power steering. Original F-head engine and running gear with 5:38 gear ratio. It has a aftermarket carburetor but I do have the original. It also has a koenig PTO winch and Hella driving lights. Jeep was painted about 15 years ago to its original red color and still looks great as I store it inside. Wheels,windshield frame,gear shift covers, etc. have been powder coated. Also included are 4 studded tire chains and a bikini top. I hate to sell my jeep but just do not use it anymore. These CJ3B’s are highly sought after and getting hard to find. No low ballers or dealers. Thank You”

“I have a 1953 Willys jeep for sale or trade. I have 95% of all the pieces needed for it. The body and chassis are together but most parts are off the vehicle including the engine (but not the rest of the driveline). I also have an extra body tub, hood, and windshield. Project vehicle which unfortunately, I do not have enough time to work Asking 1500 OBO and also open to trades and/or Cash. Need to sell as soon as possible”
