1948 CJ-2A Plymouth, WI **SOLD**

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $16,000.

The seller claims this is an AgriJeep.  In his book Preproduction Civilian Jeeps, Frederic Coldwell makes a convincing argument that despite filing for the trademark Agrijeep, and the use of the name Agrijeep on the CJ-1, Willys Overland quickly abandoned that trademark to focus in on the trademark Jeep for CJ-2’s and CJ-2A’s.  Note: there might be some debate to this based on some of the websites I reviewed – some believe the CJ-2 is an Agrijeep as well.  While I’m not in a position to provide any input into that debate, I would still review this seller’s claim cautiously.

“Rare 1948 Agri-Jeep, power take off, 3 point hitch. Only three prototypes made. Factory aluminum plate is 2 inch x 3 inch on the frame in back”

It looks like it runs and has a really bright orange blade.  Other than that, I can’t tell much.

Tall Flattie Project Palmdale, Ca **SOLD**

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A, Unusual • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

UPDATE:  **SOLD** Was $1500

You might have to purchase a ladder for this flattie.

“Willy jeep on 44 inch Super Swamper tires. Runs and drives, but radiator has not been moved to the rear. There’s no rooom in the front for the radiator. This is a project that needs work and is certainly not ready to be driven on road anytime soon. The Willys sits on a early 80’s Bronco frame that has been shortened. Lift is from a IFS ford. Runs good and no backyard custom suspension, this is basicly a bronco with an expensive aftermarket lift, so it will drive good too.  Swampers are in great shape with more than 3/4 tread.  I have a tilt column from a late model caprice, ready to install. I am willing to part out this thing if i get some serious offers. Or if someone wants to trade the swampers for some HUGE military tires i’d probably finish this project. Or a set of Rockwell axles ? Chevy Dana 60 ? I’d trade the whole truck for some Super Swamper Irok tires and wheels size 39.5 or 40 for a 20 inch rim, either chrome or polished, forged wheels.”

UPDATE:  Price dropped to $2300

This jeep looks like it’s parked in a farm shed.  It’s hard to tell whether this is running or not.  I can see some rust.  It might make a good restoration project.

Art’s 1946 CJ-2A Fire Willys and Trailer

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A, Fire/Police/Industry Vehicles, trailer • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Bruce surprised me today with some pics of a Fire Jeep.  He noted that after reading the section that includes Fire Jeeps, he thought I might be interested in seeing a couple pics of Art’s Jeep.  After reviewing the pics, I asked him for permission to publish them.  Bruce was kind enough to contact Art, who in turn has been nice enough to let me share them with you.  If you haven’t seen Art’s Jeep on the CJ-3B page or at one of the Willy’s reunions, then you are in for a treat.

One of the more interesting factoids I ran across while doing a search for Art’s Jeep on the internet was a discussion on the CJ-2A Page Forum regarding Bill’s effort to include Art’s Jeep in a Calendar of Fire Vehicles.  It turns out that Daimler Chrysler wants a piece of any Calendar pie for showing a Jeep Grille (specifically, a $500 guarantee and 12% royalties).

So, that got me thinking. What about Jeeps on pay websites?  Could Daimler, for example, begin asking for royalties from a site like the Jeep Forum, which has paying members, on which plenty of images of a Jeep Grille exist?  At this point, my opinion is they can’t, because they haven’t enforced their rights (if they even have them) to do so.  But, I’m gonna research this more.

Anyway, here’s some pics of Art’s Willys.  Thanks for sharing Art 🙂
