Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This refurbed 2A looks solid. It lacks drain holes, but the body seems in good shape and nicely repaired (if that’s the case). It lacks the original hood and the front gussets are missing, too. The truck behind it looks very nice.

“1947 Jeep CJ2A…..fiberglass tub, 283 corvette motor , 3 speed w/ overdrive….new tranny, new clutch/ pressure plate , new throw out bearing ,new bell housing…new wiring through out ….Radio/cassette player….winch with attachment kit…..runs and drives great , a true diamond in the rough…..need space, too many toys. “Bought this a few months ago it ran and drove. It is an absolute blast to drive, like a cross between a tractor and a gokart… I took it around the neighborhood and to the grocery store a few times down the street, then started to prep to remove the tub to fix some rust on the floor panels. There are kits sold online that you just weld in place to make it a fairly siple repair.
I didn’t get very far, removed some body bolts, undid the dash wiring (all clearly labeled for easy re-assembly) You could put it all bag together and just drive it as is without issue, my plan was a full restoration but quickly realizing I do not have the time.

“Decided to sell my 1946 Willys Jeep. This little jeep runs and drives like a 1946 willys jeep should. The only known issues the fuel filter plugs every once and a while. The gas tank needs to be rinsed out.Could also use a radiator cap I did order one but I am not sure when it will arrive. I only drive it a few miles now and then so it was just not a priority I guess. Shifts good in all gears 4×4 works great. Tires are old look to be original military tires? This jeep was converted to 12 volt and has a new battery. I just dont drive it so decided to pass it on to someone else. Very solid jeep for its age. There is just a minor spots on both sides below the doors. This is pretty common and the patch panels are super cheap. I will get some more pictures and add them tomorrow. Clear title in my name.. I can store this jeep for a few months as long as it is paid for in full with in 5 days of auctions end.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was No Price.
This has a rear PTO and a serial number of 295XX (can’t read the last two digits).
“Willy’s Jeep CJ2A, 1st year for civilian Jeep. Complete and untouched by modification. 134L motor is damaged from leaking head gasket on rear cylinder. 6 volt system is still functional. Rear PTO is intact with optional belt drive included. Body is still in great shape as is drivetrain.”
