Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Looks like it has been sprayed with body liner.
“1948 Willys Jeep CJ-2A, Flat Fender, Olive Drab, only made 214K of these made, a rare find, run and drives great, 4X4 works, 3 speed T-90 transmission, 2 speed Dana 18 Transfer case. Original go devil 4 cyl. engine. Mostly stock, New Breaks, new battery, Seats redone, Ryno coating inside and out, lots of life in the tires. It gets lots of attention.”

Bill spotted this one. Seller lists this as a 1944, but it looks like a 2A to me.

Seller lists this as a 1952, but the indents, body, and frame suggest this is a 1946 CJ-2A.

“This is a project jeep, but it runs and drives so you can have fun with it while you work on it.
Needs rust repair, paint, transmission rebuilt, and everything else would enjoy attention. That said, it starts right up and drives fun. Has the original running gear (L134 flathead “go-devil” engine). Although generator has been swapped to an alternator. (12v system).
4wd works nice.
Comes with rare aluminum arctic top, with aluminum doors and accompanying windshield.”

Looks to be a 2A that might have some MB parts. The seller is under the impression that an MB frame is a stronger frame.

“Starts right up, runs and drives!
I believe it may have been a Bureau of Highways (before caltrans) vehicle, hence it’s vintage Omaha orange color and enlarged marker flashers. It’s pink slip says CJ2a, but I’ve identified that it has a rare MB (side stamped) engine Willys go devil engine and an upgraded heavier duty MB frame too. The engine and frame look stock otherwise and are indistinguishable using the same parts, if you don’t these vehicle history.

“NOT MUCH TO SAY. MY 82 YEAR OLD DAD’S OLD JEEP. HE’S HAD IT 20 YEARS? RECENTLY GONE THRU by a shop and REPLACED A BUNCH OF STUFF. RUNS AND WORKS GREAT. HE HARDLY EVER USED IT. ONE OF THOSE DEALS, HE HAD DREAMS OF JEEPING AROUND WITH HIS WIFE BUT THE WIFE DREAMS OF NOT JEEPING AROUND. CLEAN TITLE. HAS ORIGINAL 4 CYCLINDER, SWITCHED OVER TO 12 VOLT SYSTEM.
