Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (08/01/2015) It’s a project with a fiberglass body.
“1949 Willys Jeep for sale, needs finished up. has new transmission and clutch, reman head, new distributor and starter, its not far from being done but I don’t have time to finish and have to have surgery so its time to let someone else take over. this jeep has a fiberglass tub so it will never rust. frame is in great condition not rusty. need to see in person.”
Looks in good shape.
“This Jeep belonged to my father, who bought it new in 1951. I restored everything but the engine and transmission in 2005, and had the original engine rebuilt and transmission and transfer case serviced in 2012. This Jeep is all original with original engine and 6 volt system (turn signals have been added). Includes a Stow-Master tow bar, $500 new.”

“Lots of money spent on major modifications. Rebuilt 327,dual exhaust. Power brakes, Power Steering. Nice Lift with 35 inch M/T’s. Goes down the road nice. Working winch with remote, nice CD player.
sm465 4 speed np205 transfer case, Toyota axles. Everything is in great working order, Heater works great along with wiper motor.
This Jeep needs nothing. Even has 4 heavy duty cup holders.”
Listed as a CJ-3A, it has a 2A windshield, so may actually be a 2A.

Craig spotted this one. There’s some jeep underneath. If it is really a ’53, it must be a CJ-3A or 3B. An M-38A1 would have the front springs reversed.
