Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I *think* the body is rough, but I can’t really tell for sure from these pics. It appears this is pretty stock. It includes a plow.

(08/06/2010) Here’s a rough jeep.
“1953 Willies Jeep CJ3A or M38. Needs Restoration. Comes with F Head Industrial Engine, original seats, gaudges, radiator, generator, spare carb, new bushing kit for suspension, new front bumper, tail gate and another front axle with locking hubs. (not shown in photos). I also know where to get more parts.”

I don’t think I’ve seen a top that doesn’t have side windows.

This appears to have a CJ-2A body. The paint job is certainly unusual; I would like to have seen this when it was fresh.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $600.
This ran lasat year, so there might be some value. It appears there is some rust along the passenger’s side.
“1952 Jeep CJ – 4 cylinder, standard, 4 wheel drive. Good drive train. Insulated alumunum cab over whole body. Fram appears to be good, needs restoration in order to put back on road. Ran well last year, but has not been started lately. 12 volt electrical system. Complete early CJ fram and drive train with flathead 4 cylinder available also.”

This jeep looks like it has seen some action. It won’t roll either.

(03/05/2009) “1942 jeep universal with original 4 cylinder engine and 3 speed 4×4. New steel body and engine overhaul in 1980’s. Used very little and garaged since the 1980’s. Runs well-needs a paint job and new seats. Price includes tow bar, swing away tire carrier/gas can holders. Jeep is functional, street legal with a clear title. Phone (541) 384-2303.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4200.
A reader named Rich spotted this ad and checked it out. He reports that he went to look at it and learned that the floor is pretty badly rusted, but drive train, engine, dash plaque, verify a V-35/U that might be rescued. This is a very rare find. Thanks Rich!
“1949 or 1950 not exactly sure it is titled as a 1949 but believe it may be a 1950 it is a miilitary issue jeep issued to the usmc and navy it’s a v-35/u the motor is original i know that and the frame is in good condition as well it was used for hunting. e-mail if you have any questions thanks.”
