Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Classic 1953 Willys Jeep. C-J3 It has a rebuilt 4cyl motor. I paid 3500.00 for jeep and need to sell for school money, selling for only $2000.00 firm! So far put new brake master cylinder on it, but it still needs new brake shoes. Everything else works great! Please just call me… I don’t really check my email. Here’s an aluminum flattie body on a modified Ford Bronco chassis. As I mentioned in a post last week, the vented hoods are very rare. I’m not sure if that’s aluminum or steel.
“Unique aluminum bodied CJ2 Jeep. This is a professionally built for off road, but very streetable CJ2. It is a real eye catcher. It features a highly modified 1974 Bronco chassis with 4 wheel disc brakes, dual master cylinders, urethane bushings, power steering, trans. cooler, power steering cooler, etc. It sits on, like new, 35X10X15 Goodyears. Power is supplied by a fresh 351w ford with edelbroch manifold and newly rebulit edelbrock 4 barrel, connected to a modified c-4 trans.and headers. It is an older construction, but is done right! I prefer cash, but will consider a trade for a nice cj or wrangler or ? and cash. ”
Here’s a clean nice rebuild with lots of new parts.
“1951 Willys CJ3A. Complete top to bottom rebuild. Frame, front and back bumpers were powder coated. New tub. All new insterments. Orignal engine, transmission, front and rear differential, all rebuilt. Steel tub. Tires LT235 / 85 R 16. Inside tub has been sprayed with bed liner same color as outside. Minor paint damage under fuel cap.
NEW: Tub, hood, fenders, tale gate, wiring harness, master cylnder, brakes, exhaust, gas tank, fuel pump, rear view mirror, side mirror, windshield, hood catches, head lights, tale lights, clutch, steering bell crank, sterring wheel, radiator, starter switch, electric windshild wipers, updated carburetor, front seat upholstery, back seat, all hoses, belt, wires, tubes, horn button, engine mounts.
About the only things that came on this Willys from the factory and are still on it are- frame, grill, engine, transmission, both diffs, windshild frame, steering shaft and column, parking brake handle, parking break drum, tailgate hinges and seat frames.
I have a spare tire, spare tire holder and Bestop Top with framing and doors for buyer to install. (could not bring myself to drill into body). This rebuild took me 2 years to complete. I have more $ 20k in it. It’s been blast to drive, as you can see i have put over 900 miles on it, but now it’s time for a new project so i have to sell it. Contact me with any questions.”

(07/05/09) “1942 Willys CJ2A on a CJ3A Frame Stretched 5” Mid door, 2 Wheel Drive, Dana 44 Posi with 5.88 Gear Ratio. rolling chassy and body roll cage no engine or trans. ( 2 will drive sand racer). Need to sell.

This looks like it has a M-38 hood, with a CJ-3A body and a MB windshield. It looks like a good price, despite the fact there is no engine.

(08/18/2010) It’s got most of the parts according to the seller …
“I have for sale a 50 Willys CJ3A Jeep project. Most of the parts are there. It is however missing the seats, gas tank and gauges. I do have the original transmission and transfer case. There are some new parts that are included with it. It does have a windshield frame but it is not the correct for the year. The body is in very good shape. The drivers floor pan needs to be replaced as it has already been cut out. I have not done anything to it since I purchased it a few months ago. The previous owner had rebuilt the front axle and upgraded it to the larger drum brakes. Also included with it is a Buick Oddfire 225 V6 from a later CJ5. It turns over and has good compression. I do have the aluminum bell housing, flywheel and starter for it as well. I was told it was a good running engine. All that is needed to put it in the Jeep is the adapter to mate the T90 tranny to the bell housing. I do not have a title for it as this is how I purchased it. Was going to make it an off road toy. I would trade for an old motorcycle preferably something unique or an old vw. Drop me a line if you have questions or offers. I am asking $500 obo. Thanks for looking.”
