Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. In early April of 2010, Kurtis found a solid looking, stock 1950 CJ-3A named Ike that he plans to restore to off-the-dealer-floor condition. He’s built a website (http://kurtisfranklin.com/blog/) to chronicle his restoration adventures and recently provided some good details on a V-Cell Radiator.

UPDATE: More pics. Some interesting pics of the custom soft top. Price dropped to $10,000. This also comes with the electric overdrive, which demonstrates you can sneak one of these behind a transfercase in a flattie.

Apparently, this is a Navy CJ-3A. It appears there is a data plate above the standard data plate on the dash that could very well document this. That said, it seems like it should be painted navy colors rather than in a cammo pattern.

This looks very solid. The seller listed this as a ’42.
“This Jeep would be great for someone looking to do a restoration project. The engine and transmission run, only 57,456 miles on the vehicle with good tires. I put in new seats and gas tank.
