(06/01/2017) Seth thought someone might enjoy this one. It’s a dual cowl, wooden bench Jeepster.

Mike shared this project. Is that chalk on the body?
“I bought this truck last summer hoping to make it my project truck but living in the city and not having a shop I bit off much more than I can chew. Now looking to sell it and get some of my money back on it. I think it would make an awesome restore project but someone that has the time and expertise. The guy I bought it from told me that the motor would turn over and it’s not locked up. I haven’t personally crank it though. It did have oil in it. I started to break down some of the parts planning to sand them and clean them up a bit but I still have everything you see in the pictures except the seats. They were pretty far gone.
Make me an offer.”
Travis spotted this rare Hurst Jeepster Commando model. However, it looks like this one has added gauges in the middle of the dash. (This video shows a stock dash, though the Hurst Badge on the hood appears incorrect). Here are some black and white photos of a HJC.

Rebuilt V6 225 engine, new timing chain, distributor, water pump, gas tank and sender, new tires and brakes, hoses with correct dauntless engine decals. Has rare special sales order plate. Has some later model hubcaps that might have been from a pink DJ-3A Surrey.

“No documents – selling as is. $1200 or best offer, but go this weekend. Unsure of year, assuming 1948-1954.”
Dave alerted me to this auction. The 1951 doesn’t have any photos just yet.

Now this looks like a barn find, one someone covered and put away. I wouldn’t call it a barn-find price, but looks like it has potential.

“1948 Willys Jeepster. All original barn find, 4cyl ran and drove when parked. 6v system, convertible top, manual tranny. Vehicle is in great shape for its age with very little rot. Would make a great restoration candidate or clean it up, refresh the mechanicals and drive it like it is.”
