Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “THIS IS A TRUE 1948 WILLY’S-OVERLAND JEEPSTER. THIS VEHICLE HAS A ‘GO-DEVIL’ 4-CYLINDER ENGINE WITH A REBUILT CYLINDER-HEAD, A 3-SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION WITH OVERDRIVE AND A NEW CLUTCH. IT HAS A REBUILT STARTER. IT IS ALL THERE AND IN GOOD SHAPE, BUT NEEDS ‘TLC’. THE CANVAS TOP IS IN GOOD SHAPE. I HAVE THE ‘SIDE CURTAINS’ BUT THEY COULD STAND TO BE REDONE. VEHICLE HAS BEEN CONVERTED TO 12-VOLT. VEHICLE HAS BEEN INDOORS ALL OF IT’S LIFE. WHEN I FOUND IT, IT WAS SITTING ON BLOCKS AND ENGINE WAS DISASSEMBLED. IT NOW RUNS AND DRIVES. It runs, but needs some work.
“Just out of 20 year storage. Has been converted to 350/350 with 10 bolt rear end. Power brakes. I did get it running but does need some brake work( I have new wheel cylinders on the way). Will drive onto a trailer.
Body is as good as they come, no rust, super solid. Complete. Top and side curtains. Has power front seats that work. I also have original front seats. You could make this a driver very easy, or do a full restoration. Clean Title with both original plates. CA from new.”

“have a 49 willys jeepster project that I never got around to building. Its a very solid roller, solid floors solid frame that has been rolled out from under it and painted and then put back but that’s as far as I got , would make a great solid builder . and parts are readily available what you see is what you get. I’ll take 3800. I do have the title. would make a great rod or go back to stock may entertain trades but cash is king (no motor or tranny) but I know a guy who has a 4 cylinder motor for a 49 or 50 jeepster”
