This was an interesting read. The price does not include rebuilt tranny, transmission or front and rear axles. Based on the pics provided, it doesn’t appear these were removed during this full restoration.

“Very Rare M38A1 Early Production 1952 Army Jeep with Rare Military Issue 100 AMP Auxiliary Generating System
Completely Restored
Price: $18,500 or OBO”
Paul spotted this unique slat grille M-38A1 at an Alaska outdoor car show. I think it is pretty well done.
Appears worth a look.
“Restored to maintain original specs . Former military issue. Unit runs and drives great. Has been stored inside, may need minor servicing before going down the road. Inline 6 cyl, 3 speed manual.. very fun to drive!!
No title due to age but has been registered and insured for years, so no problems at the D.M.V.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $17,000.

“1954 M38A1 Frame Off restoration completed in 2012.
All original except that turn signals have been fitted, Gamma Goat tail lights, M151 front indicators.

Full set of Beechwood canvas, the only thing I don’t have is door frames.
1952 M100 trailer is an Allied Dunbar, fully restored and complete.
$17,000 obo
(Would consider part exchange for WWII military vehicle.)”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $1500.
No pics provided. Lots of parts.
“1952 & 1953 M38A1 Willys Military Jeeps plus tons of extra parts!!! Moving and getting rid of my projects. I have 2 jeeps with titles, plus extra windshields (even a tilt out one), axles, seats (including a rear military fold down one), etc. I also have a brand new lift kit, adapters from Trans-Adapt to install a Chevy V8 & Turbo 350 Auto transmission, Willys transmissions, transfer cases, extra frame and lots of extra parts – Tilt steering, military gas tank & a rear gas tank from a CJ5, black out lights, too much to list it all – One of the frames has been boxed and body parts for one of the jeeps has been media blasted, but not primered, so there is some surface rust –
Also, I have an original metal hard top – I’m sure I’m forgetting to list some things because there is so much included with this package – You will need a tow dolly and a truck or a car trailer to pick these up as they are mostly in pieces – One does roll and is in the process of being built – Would prefer to sell this as a package deal rather than part it out – $1500 – Call, text or email with questions, however cell service is not great here, so texting works best”
MIght be a good jeep to drive while restoring back to original.
“1952 M38A1 with the original motor. Runs Great. I had it machined about 12 years ago, including the crankshaft and has less than 1000 miles on the rebuild.
The major parts I replaced include. . .Fuel tank, and tank floor pan. fuel/vacuum pump, seat upholstery, rear seat frame, suspension, brake calipers and pads, carb rebuild kit, clutch, muffler, horn, turn signal added, jerry can and holder, spare tire bracket. I would buy NOS or used original parts as much as possible when restoring.
It has been converted to 12 volt. Hinged radiator.
I have the Army discharge papers.”
