Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Don was in Denver, Colorado, and stopped by the Forney Museum of Transportation. Inside he found this nice looking M-38A1.
He also stopped by the El Pinto Restaurant in Albuquerque (which he recommends). There he spotted this 1945 GPW.

(05/20/2015) There seems to be some value. Neither runs at the moment.
“Selling two 1952 M38A1’s. Project started on the red one frame is original with no repairs just sandblasted and coated in POR15. Body is in fantastic shape. The green one I originally bought for parts and the MD engine as the tub is shot. All parts are military for both jeeps aside from the CJ-5 F-head and an aftermarket roll bar. Both engines ran when I bought the jeeps and were fogged before storage. Also included are some transmission rebuild parts and several gallons of sealed paint and primer. Maxed out the pictures but there are more parts included. Looking to get $4500 or best reasonable offer cash only, any questions I will do my best to answer.”

The dataplates on the dash are arranged in an unusual fashion.
