Bob spotted this toy at the I-76 antique mall in Rootstown, Ohio.
These pull toy jeep plans were published in the January 1944 issue of Popular Science by C.W. Bertsch.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
“Up for auction is a Marx “NELLYBELLE” Willys JEEP. Very old vintage steel toy. About 11 x 5.5 inches. The hood was fastened with nuts and bolts, see pictures for condition.”
Between the headlights and the bantam-like sides, this looks like a Bantam-inspired toy to me.
“Offered is a vintage, 1950’s “Thomas Toys,” military police jeep w/ rare trailer. Trailer is the real value here, no doubt. Chief is approximately 4 inches and overall length while trailer is approximately 3.5″ in overall length. Jeep is missing siren, windshield, figures etc….
Trailer is intact and has seen little, if any use.
Colors are vibrant.
The only discrepancy is that One of four plastic tabs that hold the axle in place are broken. Please see photograph”
Jan contacted me about a toy his father picked up in Maastricht (Netherlands) at the end of WWII. He didn’t know the history of the toy and asked if I knew. I didn’t know either, but after some research, I learned this toy was called a victory toy and made in the Netherlands following their liberation in WWII. However, what’s not clear is who manufactured these toys. Was it “Victory Toys” or were these ‘victory toys’ made by a manufacturer not of that name?

Victory Toy jeeps and soldiers from the Netherlands. These were part of an auction in 2011. http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/18798/lot/1090/

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $150.
Not a bad price.
“Here is a cool antique Hamilton Pedal Jeep. This is all metal. Its pink and is a replica Surrey Jeep that was sold to the resorts in the late 1950 s and early 60s. It still works and is a rare collectible or use it for your little girl or paint it green for your little boy. The Surrey jeep is the rare Pedal Car made by Hamilton. Its a cool vehicle and your kid would be the envy of the sandbox .”
Interesting little toy, but somehow the shipping costs one and a half times the cost of the jeep??? Why pay for expedited shipping?

“Antique Structo Jeep Fire Truck. Asking $160″
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $175.
This has a custom windshield and rail. Peddles and drives.
“Peddle jeep for sale. Made by Hamilton, between 1950 & 1955. Been used and played with, but EVERYTHING WORKS! Steering and peddles function as they should. Would make an excellent restoration project as the Jeeps were fairly rare! Asking $175 or reasonable offer. Also might consider trade towards small CCW pistol. Thanks!”
Looks in pretty good shape.
“Selling my extremely Rare! 1950’s, Tri-ang, Generals, Pedal Jeep.
These are very hard to find anywhere, especially in this condition.
Sorry for the poor quality pictures. Jeep is much nicer than depicted.
Asking $425.00 Negotiable.”
