Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “’59 Willys Wagoneer. Complete engine, transmission, transfer-case, front & rear end, and suspension from 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee (ZJ) original owner. Welding and set-up done by Brandon Johnson of BC Customs/SXOR Mobility Vehicles in 2005.
Coil suspension, sway bars, steering, is Grand Cherokee and was done right. Boxed frame. New Edelbrock manifold, Holly carb. New drive lines. Motor (318 ci (5.2L) runs. No brakes, no cooling, some surface rust, and floor rust. All fixable. Great project for cool 4×4.
The car has set in a garage for the past 15 years with minimal work. Over $10K invested. I will consider any reasonable offer.”

Seller’s friend describes this as a 1956 “Willys D1”. It appears to be a CJ-3A with an incorrect year.
“Selling for a friend. It is not a Cherokee it is a Willys D1. Facebook will not accept the Willys Make in the field. It has been looked at by 2 mechanics and “runs really good for its age.” It has been sitting a long time and just smokes a little but just needs to run for a while. Major cosmetic defects. It is a fixer-upper. Mileage unknown”

“For sale a pair of Custom aluminum Jeep Willy’s flatfender fenders. Do not know exact years they fit. Came with one of my projects, have been sitting on my shelf for years. Don’t think there made anymore. Super cool”
Apparently, this is located in Bavaria … Photos of this vehicle were posted to the G503 Facebook page. Some folks saw this as a bubbafied vehicle, and there may be elements of that. However, the bends of the frame and other nuances have me wondering if it was some type of airborne prototype. It’s actually a pretty clean frame for a bubba project. In a couple pics you can see how clean the spring hangers have been mounted.
Thoughts?
Check out the grille. You can see that it has equidistant slats up until the right side. I don’t see Bubba doing something like that so cleanly.
