“For sale, early 1950’s Willys CJ 3B tub. 80% rebuilt using heavier gauge metal. Additional supports added, (was probably going to build a crawler). Front fenders can go with the tub for free, although they are in pretty rough shape.”

“Jeep is in pieces but all acounted for: this year model features the high hood, twon stick transfer case, hard top with sides and the hard top. Engine turns over fine by hand.”
UPDATE **SOLD** Was $3500.
(03/20/2018) Lots of mods here. It includes a WARN OD.
“Offered for sale is this 1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A. The Willys has a Buick V6 conversion that runs and drives great. The vehicle also has a GM SM420 transmission conversion that works excellent. It is equipped with a granny low gear and a Dana 18 transfer case w/ Warn Overdrive. 4-Wheel High and Low both function properly as well. The axle’s are Dana 44 front and rear. The suspension, axles, and part of donor frame have been welded to the original/existing frame. As one can see from the photos the body is a little rough but as stated above the vehicle runs and drives. This vehicle could crawl off road trails right now or could be a great blank canvas for someone to build on. The vehicle has a clean CA title. Off road use only. No plates or reg. Asking only $3,500!”
One place I’ve yet to reach is Russell’s Travel Center, a gas stop on historic Route 66 along I-40, exit 369, Glen Rio, New Mexico. Don recently stopped in their to take photos of their 1948 CJ-2A, along with some other vehicles. This year, on my return trip, I plan to stop and see it!
UPDATE II: Thanks to Fred, we have a facebook link to a couple color photos and a link to diaries (in French) thanks to the Guy’s grandson David: http://www.vehiculesmilitaires.com/viewtopic.php?f=159&t=355&hilit=sauterelle
UPDATE: Jalopnik published this story in March 2017 that gives more background to photos Charles forwarded back in 2015 (see pics below). I couldn’t find much info on the trip pat the time.

I’ve been playing with some t-shirt designs. I’ve narrowed it down to three. Any thoughts?
The Portland Swapmeet is this weekend. Ted spotted a couples items.
First up, this project CJ-2A with a fiberglass(?) body. Only $500.
Looking for something less budget conscious? How about this $35,000 sign?
