Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Motor is suppose to be a recent rebuild, I got as you see it now. They didn’t finish and neither did I. New fuel tank, brake lines, fuel lines. New electric wipers in box, along with starter switch’s etc”

This 2013 post from Offroad Action popped up while I was searching for something else. It highlighted the rebuild of an MB-turned-truck in Europe. There are a variety of photos showing the rebuild process.

Anyone know the history of this unusual Willys sign. I know I’ve seen it floating around before, but can’t remember where. Was it ever an actual sign?

Seth shared this vintage jeep club plaque. The Redlands Geckos Jeep Club was based out of Redlands, California. It was in existence by 1963 (based on this article) and was around as late as 1977 (based on this article).

“Army Jeep (MUTT) Multi use tactical truck. This jeep has never been cut and welded. Gas tank has been processional refurbished. Carb. Has been rebuilt, no damage to seat cushions, has extra back seat frame, full set of doors in good condition, no cracks or chips in windshield, tow bar that attaches to front bumper. All 4 shocks have been replaced and new u joints. This jeep has participated in the last 2 veterans day parades. It will also come with an original organizational maintenance manual. The only thing not included is the airmobile Vietnam metal plate on the spare tire. Serious inquiries only please.”

Owned by the same family since 1946.
“Super original WW2 US Army Jeep that has been owned by the same family since released from the government in 1946. The original owner used it on his ranch, after he passed away it was stored for the past 25 years in the garage. Fresh out of retirement, the engine has been rebuilt along with a new wiring harness, rebuilt radiator, completely rebuilt braking system, new exhaust system, new gas tank, new battery, new clutch, front seat cushions, new Firestone military tires and tubes with the original combat wheels. The transmission functions well and shifts very smoothly. I don’t think it would be possible to find a more original and well running and driving Jeep.”
