Completely restored? A hole in the driver’s side and a dirty engine compartment suggest differently.

(01/07/2018) Someone spent a lot of time and money building this rig. You might ask why? I certainly wonder why? Sometimes, a feller just has to follow his own path no matter where it leads ….

“This is an almost all original 1947 CJ2A Jeep Willys. Great shape for its age. Still 6v system. Painted as a military jeep but from what I can find it was one of the civilian models made just after WWII. I DO NOT have a Title.
New battery, plugs, wires, coil, rebuilt starter. Good compression turns over fine. I have not at this time of posting this have the motor running. I am currently working on it.
Carburetor needs rebuilt and transmission shifting arm need cleaned so it will go into gear. Needs some wiring redone. I am sure it will need fluids changed and would make a great authentic after the war era jeep.
Reader GMWillys forwarded this photo after our discussion on the M-38A1D yesterday. You can see an M-38 in the foreground.
A jeep so fast it can pass a double-decker bus!

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4950.
This might be worth a look.
“Very nice 1953 CJ3B that has a professionally restored engine with no miles since rebuild. If your in the market for a nice vintage jeep this is the one for you.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1250.
This runs, has a hardtop.
“This is a 1969 Jeep CJ5. It was used as a snow plow and comes with all the hydraulics and parts except for the plow it self, also comes with an extra set of 5 original tires and rims. It has a new windshield frame, no windshield and THE original steel hard top AND matching doors. The motor runs and the transmission shifts very well. The rear breaks are out but the fronts are new. Has working transfer case and both axles are good. I recently drove it around the block and it had no problems but it is not road worthy. This Jeep is great for an offroad project or a donor for your own project. I want to sell and i’m ready to negotiate too.’
Even includes a hubcap.
