Has a few dings here and there.
“I have a 1952 M38A1 first generation Military Jeep and 1942 M100 WWII for sale $14,000.00 OBO or trade for a pickup that runs good and has three or four door. The Jeep is all original except for the oil gauge but I have in garage just need to find sending unit. It is 24 volt kept it all original has less than 1000 miles on rebuilt engine from Pennsylvania. Put a lot of time and money in jeep and was used for funerals and parades in Paradise California.
Hate to get rid of it my grandfather rode in it just before he passed wanted to keep it but my family is in need of a new engine for my 1996 GMC K1500 and a transmission for my wife’s car plus a few gifts under the tree for my ten year old son would be nice. I am the commander for the Disabled American Veterans in Paradise and the guys are going to miss it but my family has to come first. If interested give me a holler I only do business local or in the States. No foreign dealings unless you come to US with cash. No checks of any kind cash only or go together to bank together.”

UPDATE: **SOLD**
(11/14/2017) “I am clearing estate and have One FC 150 Jeep truck left to move. This is mostly complete, rusty, parts truck. Seats are there, as are engine covers (not shown). Driven regularly until in accident in 1986, then parked. It could be fixed up with spare parts that I have for extra money, for a skilled restorer or built heavily modified with non-Willys parts. Green 1959 was rolled and needs windshield, bed, and rear differential (cracked in half) for $800. It is wide track model, 3-speed, 4WD, and has old PA title..”
This also has the tailgate. Not sure how much value is here.
“Truck utility 1/4 Ton 4 x 4 M38A1.
Date Delivered: July 1953.
Manufacturer’s Serial Number: 51801.
First with acceptable best offer takes it home! Make me an offer I can’t refuse and it’s yours. I thought I could take on this little fix-up project but I was simply deceiving myself… I don’t have the time. But, for someone with that loves old classics this is a dream task.”

The earliest of the 1953 CJ-3B models were produced in 1952, so I would expect this should have a very early serial number.
“The 1952 CJ3B was the first year of the CJ3B series and this is one of only 2360 (amc records) that were made in 1952.

“It took 8,500 hours (6 years) to engineer and build this Willys. It was owned by my brother since about 1996. This beast will crawl just about anything that you can throw at it! We are only selling it because we don’t drive it anymore and hope to find someone local that will take great care of it.
