This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Appears to have a plow, too. Seller calls the top a Tuxedo Top, but that’s a Meyer hardtop.
“I have a 1965 jeep CJ5 Kaiser Willys my dad bought new in 1966, also have a 1966 CJ5 for parts. The 65 has the original hurricane 4 motor that runs good, transmission and transfer case is good as are the axles, steering etc. Make no mistake it will need to be restored but everything to do so is here, the tuxedo top had been restored and ready to paint. It has an aftermarket 3B tub on a custom frame.
“Willys 3B Jeep with a custom boxed frame. The jeep has a hard top with the hard doors. There is a Chevy 350 mounted on the new custom frame as well. The tub is the remanufactured heavy duty metal tub. New hood, fenders, nice grill, tailgate, custom steel bumpers with heavy duty tongue. This is an unbelievable project, it just needs someone to finish it up. New disk brakes, hubs have been rebuilt, fluids changed in the axles. The pictures in this ad were taken prior to having a custom boxed steel frame made to handle the 350 engine. Too many new parts to mention!!!!! Make me a reasonable offer! Will consider trades such as equipment, tools, tractors, lulls, skid steer, trucks, diesels, trailers, lumber, center console boats, inboard boats. I am open to trade up with cash.”

I can appreciate that not everyone recognizes the elements that make up a stock jeep. And, I don’t mean to be harsh, but do want to be fair …. with that in mind, when a seller lists a jeep with the title “Museum Car: M38” (Not M-38A1), and then follows up in the ad’s text with “Everything original except the engine”, it begs closer inspection. In this case, just some of the non-original items include:
1) The bumper guard;
2) The turn signals
3) The front fender skirts
4) The paint color
5) The steering dampener
6) four of the five gauges
7) Speaker in dash
8) The radio in dash
9) Turn signal mechanism
10) The wiring running up the steering column
11) The passenger handle on the dash
12) The rims

Speaking of Charles, he was wondering if anyone knows if this was used during WWII? It’s marked MP57. He believes it was based on his research, but was hoping for some confirmation.
