Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1972 DJ-5 Jeep, Left Hand Steer
Straight 6 Engine, Automatic Transmission, 2 wheel drive.”
This has some mods including changes to the steering, engine, front cross member and dash. The body has also had work done to it. The seller includes a pic that purports to show the values of a CJ-2A based on Haggerty insurance.
“1947 WILLY’S MILITARY STYLE JEEP
Dad graduated from High School in 1947 so he had to have a 47. The motor has been rebuilt and the vehicle has newly upholstered seats and a vinyl cab. It has no tail gate which makes it military style I am told. This partial restoration comes with a vintage first aid kit. It will start on the first turn. . . . if it has enough gas.”

Thanks to Jim for sharing his old club’s design with us. I just love these old jeep club placard designs! The Hill-N-Gully Riders Jeep Club was founded in 1956 in Riverside, California. The club still exists today and has a presence on Facebook.
Steve shared this early photo of a BRC-60 at the Smithsonian.
“1944 Press Photo Smithsonian Institute – American G.I.s Look at Army Jeep. This is an original press photo. Smithsonian Institute – Grandpa Jeep is in the Smithsonian Institution in Washington now. And three GI Joes look with respect at it, the only one of 62 delivered to the army in the first order of the summer of 1940. Since then thousands of jeeps have gone into service.
