“This is a Lightning flathead six cylinder engine out of my 1948 Willys jeep.not sure of the year. Does not run. It ran great before I pulled it.”
Doesn’t run and has been sitting for 3 decades.
“This jeep has been in a storage shed for over 30 years, I have not had it running. It has a pretty solid body and has most of the original military features in tact. i.e. 24 volt electrical, headlight guards, bows, etc.. I do have a clear title which indicates the 1951 Willys status but does not reflect the same serial number?
There is a rust hole in the right rear corner and the passenger side floor board looks week, other wise pretty solid. The gas tank has been replaced by a civilian tank with smaller filler, not sure why. It does not turn over at this point, but I have not tried very hard.”

Has variety of modes, including the possibility of an f-head.

The January 1963 issue of Playthings Magazine included this neat Tonka ad. I tried to find a full issue of Playthings Magazine on eBay, but there weren’t any 1960s that I could find. I suspect this is probably a rare ad.
Generator isn’t charging, but looks like it may be a good price.
“I have a 1948 Willy’s Jeep. Its all original besides the paint. Runs and drives. Original flat head 4 cylinder. It is still a 6 volt system. Clear title. Its in great shape besides the paint. It has a brand new 6 volt battery in it. The generator is not charging currently but would be easy fix. Has always been garage kept. It has been setting around 7 years. It still has the original military tires on it”

“1I have a ’48 Willys Jeep CJ2A. It has the original motor, transmission, transfer case, body is in great shape, rarely leaves the farm. It had disc brakes conversion on the front, so it stops straight, soft top is in good shape, it has the optional Willys heater, and a hand crank start option. It does have an electronic ignition, 12 volt system. Calls only, ”

“Willy’s cj-5 jeep. Starts, runs, and drives good. F134 Hurricane 4cyl, 3 speed, twin stick transfer case, 5:38 gears, all in good condition. Been converted to 12 volt and Saginaw steering. Brakes work but a little weak. All lights, gauges, and emergency brake work. Bestop soft top needs one new zipper otherwise good condition. Clear title in my name. Great little hunting, trail riding, or ranch jeep. $2900 cash.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Appears in good shape.
“This 1945 Army Jeep with Willys trailer was meticulously restored by my uncle Erv.
From what I remember, he did a ground up restoration in the 1990’s and paid attention to detail. I do know he added and electric fuel pump a few years ago.
Erv was a mechanic in the army in the late 1950’s and always love military vehicles, this jeep was his pride and joy. I don’t think he ever missed a Memorial Day & Fourth of July day parade with it.
