This section used to be split into jeeps, parts and other categories, but recent changes to eBay will require this information to be recoded.

Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. UPDATE: It appears this endeavor didn’t work out.
Merlin reported on a NEW CJ-5 that will go into production (approx 5,000 jeeps per year) soon. One question that many folks have asked is how the new jeep can meet the current safety specs for new cars. According to Merlin, the short answer is it can’t, but it doesn’t have to meet them. In 2014 the feds passed regulations that allow low production auto manufacturers to only have to meet the specs for 1967.

Universal Motors Corp (makers of the Allied Jeep L head blocks) has the new Mopar licensed Cj5 on display in booth 32326 at Sema. These sport the current Jeep engine, and there will be a diesel option as well. Bodies and parts will be manufactured by UMC, not bought from current parts and panel manufacturers other than Jeep. I will be spending a few days in Salt Lake City (roughly Friday through Tuesday) to visit with my kids. So, updates might be a little spotty.

Looks in good shape, but seller suggests it needs a little work.

“1966 CJ 6
Very clean. Garage kept. 100% rust free California Jeep. CJ6’s are roughly 20” longer than a CJ5.
-4×4 works great
-Chevy 4.3L V6 with a 4 barrel carb, headers and new quiet exhaust from the headers back. Starts right up with no issues what so ever; I daily drive it. Very fast and has great power. I also have part of a fuel injection kit.
-Smog Exempt
-New air filter and oil change 100 miles ago
-White paint and pin striping from 2009. Looks great but not perfect. Body is extremely straight with no major dents
-Drums on all 4 wheels. Stops well, no leaks.

Looks to be a 2A that might have some MB parts. The seller is under the impression that an MB frame is a stronger frame.

“Starts right up, runs and drives!
I believe it may have been a Bureau of Highways (before caltrans) vehicle, hence it’s vintage Omaha orange color and enlarged marker flashers. It’s pink slip says CJ2a, but I’ve identified that it has a rare MB (side stamped) engine Willys go devil engine and an upgraded heavier duty MB frame too. The engine and frame look stock otherwise and are indistinguishable using the same parts, if you don’t these vehicle history.
