Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I snagged this early 1950s Jeep Utility Wagon brochure off eBay. It took some time to find an inexpensive one. It came with a small bundle of other brochures.

“Selling our 1949 Willys jeepster. Car runs great. Willys only mad this car for 4 years and it’s 1 of 2960 made in 1949. Were only selling it because we have 2 babies and no time to drive. Car was driven in Hot August Nights. I have all records including pictures of the car before it was restored. Great weekend driver. $12,500 obo.”

“older willys jeep, starts and runs well, body is rough but solid, 4 wheel drive works, new front brake wheel cylinders, new master cylinder, recent oil change and filter.”
I can’t tell if theirs rust alone the bottom of the driver’s side of the body or if it is something else.The jeep has some mods.
“Beautiful example of a rust free, unmolested old Willy’s. All the right upgrades, but still very nostalgic and original. Shackle extension to give it a little lift. F Head motor, upgraded axles, new wiring, upgraded windshield, still 6 volt, new front tie rods and ball joints, tires, rebuilt generator etc…. Pretty sorted, a little tinkering, but runs and drives pretty darn good for an ancient relic! I was so excited about getting it and really wanted to keep it, but I’m running out of room and have another project coming. Has a good soft top and doors included as well as a few extra parts. Seats are in excellent shape, rear seat is a bit worn, but looks like it might be original as well. Starts right up! Come take a look. The market is all over the place on these, but I think it is fair and even a little under for it’s condition. I’ve seen them for more and I’ve seen them for less. I feel it’s middle of the road.”
