1946? CJ-2A Jerseyville, IL $1000

Not sure how much value is here. Given the three data tags it is most likely a 1946.

“Found in the back of a lean to on a farm that my friend inherited. It is all there except for the roof cross bows that may also be there somewhere. We are not interested in parting it out. Nobody is there to do that and it is a bit of a drive for us. I am not sure he knew it was there the roof of the shed settled down on a tractor that he wanted out and there it was back in the back covered up with junk. It belonged to his grandfather. It has 1963 plates on it. If it was ever registered that is probably when. My friend is 56 and never seen it moved. All the wheels roll and its complete as when parked. Plenty of rust including the floor pans. Both vin tags are present but almost unreadable. There is an extra windshield there and possibly other parts. Thanks Lynn”

Some interesting history here.

A Military Policeman stands to one side as the jeep heads for Germany. Photo measures 8 x 6.25 inches. Photo is dated 02-28-1945.”

1942 Photo of Jeep Descending Dune on eBay

• CATEGORIES: Features, Old Images This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

The caption refers to the vehicle as a ‘Jeep’ car.

“This is an original press photo. Down a 160 foot incline on the sand dunes at Cape Henry, a ‘jeep’ car from Fort Story makes the descent with ease during maneuvers training drivers to handle these vehicles over all types of terrain. Should American Soldiers see service in desert lands the training these men receive will be of great value.Photo measures 9 x 7.25inches. Photo is dated 4-22-1942.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5900.

This looks solid. I’m pretty sure this is 6 volt and not 5.

“This is a great original willys. It runs great. I drive this jeep all the time. If you want a good original Jeep this is it. It is still 5 volt and not messed with. The tires are new.”

Joe-in-Mesa, think Jan will agree to a plow jeep? You’ll be prepared in case it snows 🙂
