Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Steve passed along this interesting photo of Willys wagon printed in a Summer 2017 periodical. The text seems to be unrelated to the photo and offers not information about it.

“Bought in April and spun a rod bearing driving it home. Put new bearings in and had a licensed mechanic go through and rework some stuff. It runs great now with the original 4-cylinder 134. I bought for family use but would like something different. It has 5 new tires and wheels, bikini top, and enclosed soft top. Would make a great engine/tranny swap project.”

“Selling my antique Jeep Willys it is a 1947 cj2a I have the original Oregon license plate and updated Pacific Wonderland Oregon plates for it has the original Flathead 4 cylinder motor original drivetrain has Firestone NDT military look-alike tires All 4 shocks have been replaced front wheel bearings have been repacked. Electrical has been converted from 6 volt to 12 volt so therefore has an alternator to keep it charged it also has 12 volt windshield wipers which are controlled individually side to side has Factory front PTO winch but will need work done it is seized up recently carburetor has been rebuilt brand new fuel tank underneath driver’s seat seats have been reupholstered as well starts up nice drives nice. It will make a nice addition to somebody’s collection who is into Jeeps. I have just decided to go a different route I want to part ways with my old classic.”
