Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Up for sale is, what I believe is a 1956, Willys Jeep CJ5. The serial number under the hood reads 57548-14914. I am selling this for my uncle so please excuse my lack of knowledge on the vehicle. I do know you will not be able to drive it home, however it does run and you can test drive it before buying it. It has a Buick V8 with a Turbo 350 automatic transmission with a B&M ratchet shifter. Has 36″ super swamper tires which are pretty dry rotted but all hold air. It has Warn manual locking front hubs with a Dana 30 front end and Dana 44 rear end. It has a homemade canopy top which can be easily removed. frame is in good shape and body is in decent shape with a few dings and dents and some surface rust. This jeep needs a restoration, but it is a running and, we’ll say moving, project.”

This is listed as a 1941. It has rear full floaters with a CJ body. Look like a pipe “roll cage”.

It’s project.
“I have a 1948 Willys for sale. It is a project. Set up for small block chevy, has fenderwell headers with purple hornies, 4 spd trans, BFG tires, has tow bar, tilt column, plastic fuel cell. Currently has no engine, has had new center link and tie rod, as well as new shocks. I’ve got TOO many projects, need this one gone. Make me an offer, all I can say is no.”

(07/23/1953) “wagon has alot of new parts. brand new inspection good until 2/17.
-has a 69 buick skylark 350 with th350 transmission.
-new hooker supercomp headers
-new 3″cherrybomb sidepipes
-new fuel line and filter
-new gauges. temp, volt, and oil
-completley new wiring harnes. the old harnes war ripped oit and everything has been wired in brand new through a fuse block. everything runs off of toggle switches.
-battery disconnect
-rear mounted battery
-b/m mega shift
-upgraded electric wiper motor
-new summit racing 40,000btu heater
-new adjustable summit racing bucket seats
-new becool 1,300 cfm fan
-all new hoses and wiring on the motor
all suspension components are only 2 years old. leafs, bushings, shackles
-new tie rod ends.
alot of new stuff.
the rear floor is all new. with new batton strips. also the crossmembers that support the floor are new 2″x2″x.25″ box tubing. everything has been seam sealed. new rockers.
has 35×12.5×15 mickey thompson baja mtz tires.
